Single mom and full-time college student Donnetta Foster, 20, was using a computer to prepare for a job interview at the Decatur Library in Georgia last October, when her baby allegedly laughed too loudly at a flash card. Things weren’t so funny after that.

Foster says she tried to quiet her son, but security guards told her to leave and the librarian shut down her computer. After she refused to leave, the librarian called the police, and Foster "became irate yelling in a loud and boisterous manner." After leaving and returning for more yelling and swearing, she was handcuffed and placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and could face up to a year in jail.

when asked to leave by security.

Odds are if she if she hadn't be yelling and swearing (great way to behave in front of a baby and in a library), she wouldn't have been arrested.

She was jailed for being an ass, not for having a laughing baby.

That would constitute criminal trespass and disturbing the peace among other things.

It has nothing to do with her child laughing, it has everything to do with her (over)reaction.

Even though I believe the library should not have asked her to leave,

So, HER response/actions regarding the situation are what landed her in jail.

5. it's yet another gotcha story title to get people to read. papers do it so much I wanna skip out on

reading sites that do it, but if I did, I'd be skipping potentially all news sites since the article writer isn't the one typically who makes the title of the story, the editor does, and they sensationalize everything!

the poor girl is trying to work on a library computer because she can't afford her own, and she's hassled because her baby is doing baby things.

She's overworked, exhausted and probably hungry, the homework is due tomorrow, and the solution in to lock her up and put the baby in foster care?
