Colo. cat, missing 5 years, is found on NYC street
Edited on Wed Sep-14-11 08:38 PM by Seedersandleechers
A calico cat named Willow, who disappeared from a home near the Rocky Mountains five years ago, was found Wednesday on a Manhattan street and will soon be returned to a family in which two of the three kids and one of the two dogs may remember her.

How she got to New York, more than 1,600 miles away, and the kind of life she lived in the city are mysteries.

But thanks to a microchip implanted when she was a kitten, Willow will be reunited in Colorado with her owners, who had long ago given up hope.

4. Unreal

A very nice story. The domestic house cat is still an amazingly instinctive creature, so this is really an incredible story, but also very believable.

5. Maybe his little town blues were melting away...
... and he wanted to make a brand new start of it in New York?

Maybe he wanted to wake up in a city that never sleeps? And find he’s king of the hill? Top of the heap?

Just my observations.

"Willow, a 6-year calico cat that went missing from her Colorado home during a renovation 5 years ago, sits in a cage at her temporary home on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, in New York's Animal Care and Control (ACC) facility. Willow, found as a stray in Manhattan and brought to ACC, had been tagged with an identification microchip and will soon be reunited with her owners."

Thanks to the man who took her to the shelter.

9. And needless to say
that cat looks really healthy and well fed. Doesn't look like Willow lost too many meals.

19. I was in NYC
when a rat crawled out of some trash next to a building and ran towards the street and into a gutter.
It was the biggest thing I had ever seen.
I had seen plenty of nasty rats when I lived in east Dallas, but nothing like that.

It caught me by ssurprise and ran right in front of me, nearly walking over me.

I screamed, for some reason, I guess at being surprised.

A guy in a car was waiting at the light. He had his window down. He just laughed.

22. Most likely is she was adopted in Colorado and that person later moved to NYC.
Hopefully the NYC owner will see the story and claim her.

24. Yeah...Unless You're Willow
The cat was living the life in NYC. Going to shows. Eating from the best restaurants. Hanging around museums. Getting all that culture.

Now, it's back to Colo. Where she will live with two dogs and screaming kids. Oy!
