How to pull off a coup, Pennsylvania style

Step 1: Have all of the paper voting machines in the state replaced with Diebold paperless machines that can be rigged with no way to audit them. (2003 through 2010).

Step 2: Using step one, sweep into the governor's mansion and control of both state houses.

Step 3: Using step two, pass legislation to change the way that Pennsylvania's electoral votes are apportioned so that it is no longer a winner-take-all state. So while a Republican can get ALL of Texas' electoral votes with just 51% of the vote, even a Democrat that gets 60% of the vote in PA is likely to only get 11 out of 21 electoral votes.

Step 4: Do the same in every Democratic-leaning state in the rust belt.

Step 5: Profit!

2. All the repukes have to do is keep the election close enough to steal.

They couldn't do that in '08.
