‘Let him die’ incident used for pro-health care ad campaign
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/09/14/let-him-die-incident-becomes-health-care-ad/

A Democrat-affiliated group has turned the "let him die" incident during the CNN/Tea Party debate into an online ad campaign targeting eight Republican presidential candidates.

During the debate on Monday night, CNN’s Wolf Blitzer asked Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) if society should just let a man die if he was in a coma and also did not have health care insurance.

The audience responded with shouts of "Yes!" and clapped in support of the idea.

The group Protect Your Care has made the incident into an online ad, available at www.LetHimDie.com, which will run on news sites in the early voting states Florida, Iowa and New Hampshire. The ad cycles through different candidate's names and asks people to sign a petition to get the Republican candidates to condemn the audience's reaction.

1. This is a great idea
Ed Schultz asked Alan Grayson if that would make a good ad. I am glad someone is jumping on this. This clip should show what the true base of the Tea Party is, a cult of death.

3. It won't fly. Here's why.
Most of participants and reporters who witnessed this on site, say that the reaction was from rabid supporters of Ron Paul and not a responsive cheer to letting a man die.
They were hooting like fucking owls to everything he said, and that rolled over into Blitzers follow up question and Paul response.
The fact is no one who WANTS to let people die would cheer it in a public forum because they know that is political suicide.
Now, they COULD support it, but would never scream it out at a debate.
This incident is political sport.
nothing else.
nothing will stick.
That's a fact.

6. So you're saying that Paul supporters don't want people to die who can't afford care?
That's not the way I read their rhetoric.

11. I disagree...
1) the timing really suggests it was a response to Blitzer's question. 2)I have no doubt that, feeling surrounded by their kind and thus safe to speak with little inhibition, a few would be stupid enough to bypass the brain/mouth filter and shout "yes" to the let him die remark. And 3), it will stick. Have you seen the attention span of the American voter these days? We will hear the soundbite, and tune to the Kardashians by the time the explanation arrives.

every last one of their names and home towns would be scrolled across the bottom of the screen of the ad as well.

They knew where they were and what was being said. Let them own it.
