How many are aware that Koch convinced the Republican Candidate
who won last night in NY:: He had him commit to preserving
SS and Medicare as Federal Programs. The Candidate committed
to bucking his own party on Medicare and Social Security.

Source. Fmer Mayor Koch on Cavuto , Fox 4pm.

1. Ed Koch might be wrong about a whole lot of stuff, but he's never been stupid
and he's never been particularly crazy or self destructive.

Good for him.

2. Koch is senile
I say that as a born and bred NYC resident, who lived not far from his residence, in the Village. I even met him once shopping. Put him out to pasture.

4. That senile old man just changed history in NYC and allowed Dem's everywhere to consider...
a vote against the Democratic Party candidate as a legitimate expression of one's political voice.

That's a massive spanner in the machinery and will not only complicate all efforts on the ground but could potentially lead to those small fissures that cause the ship to come apart.

Koch unleashed a dangerous genie in his effort to put Dem's on notice regarding fealty to Israeli issues. I think it will go back in the bottle, but it was hardly the shrewd political machinations that could come from a senile old man.

3. How did he buck his own party?
That is the way they are framing the destruction, "committed to preserving". They have all said it, including Paul Ryan.

5. Koch knows , I know and I hope you all know that the Republicans
plan to end Medicare as we know. Privatize it for those
under 50.

We just want to reform it is their throw away line. Bush
said this during his campaign--then as soon as he was in
office attemptef to privatize SS.

Republicans have to lie or they would never win. They simply
do not believe in these programs.

7. I am not suggesting forgiveness. Just hope the Party ignores
some of the analysis which some networks are using.
The Medicare and SS argument will not work for Democrats.

Sure, it will not work if the Republican is promising to
keep them Federal Programs, no privatization at any point.

8. Thank GOD Republicans NEVER lie or break promises just to get ELECTED...
OMG. How stupid can you be?

The REASON Republicans want to destroy Social Security and Medicare is to "PROTECT" it.
