ABC doing a hatchet job on Democrats for "taking a Chance" on Solyndra.
They're showing all the Repugs "Outraged" that 535 million was wasted on a Solar idea.

Boy...that's nearly as much as a former President spent on a totally unnecessary War.

Ah..yeah...like 1/3000 as much.

1. This is just like the year 2000
when the media was in love with the republican party and bashed everything Gore and democratic. They were just wavin' that flag with GWB's picture on it all over the place. Dejavu!!

3. I have no problems with taking a chance with Solyndra
I've been to the office

They have the illusion of looking profitable

They moved into the old Maxstor HQ and made it into an icon of all things Solar

Even your most jaded, cynical pol would have bought the hype

10. I was hoping the poster would respond.
The one who thinks there is a difference between giving them $535 million and guaranteeing $535 million in loans.

12. Don't assume things. ABC news just said "It cost the USA 535 million dollars"
I didn't hear (and they didn't say) anything else.

14. I make no assumptions.
Solyndra's assets are extremely limited. The government will be on the hook for the bulk of the loan.

15. It also seems like the government guarantees
were subordinated to the money the investors put in, so the government won't be first in line to get anything if there is anything.

This is very different from the car bankrupcies where the government moved itself in front of the bondholders.

11. Obama should have just given Solyndra the money...
...after having a secret meeting with them. Or he should have just been on their payroll. Or he should have had Solyndra give lucrative consulting contracts to Democratic political flaks. But you're right, most of all Obama should have made sure that the government lost at least $1 trillion and that it was for a bad reason or a lie rather than trying to do something "good."

Republicans hate "do-gooders." They like "do-badders" and they like them as bad as possible. Pull a few hairs from America's head, and it will say ouch and get annoyed. Gut shoot America's economy, its reputation, and its treasury, and the country will be too sick and damaged to complain. That's the Republican way.
