Pat Robertson: If a man's wife has Alzheimer's, "he should divorce her and start all over"

Pat Robertson Says to Divorce Your Wife If She's Terminally Ill

By Tina Dupuy

http://crooksandliars.com/tina-dupuy/pat-robertson-says-divorce-if-your-wife

We'll call this "The Full Gingrich." Yes, love, honor, obey - and ditch when they get sick.

Finally Pat Robertson has come out on the side of the suffering - just like Christ. Those suffering with having a wife who's no longer up to snuff.

Asked what a man should do whose wife has Alzheimer's, an increasingly decrepit Pat Robertson says, "I know it sounds cruel but if he's going to do something, he should divorce her and start all over."

In a week of Republicans cheering for record executions and wooing for the uninsured to drop dead - does this even get a blip on our disgust radar?

3. That's what a MAN should do if his spouse has Alzheimers.
I bet his answer is a little different if he's talking about a WOMAN whose spouse has Alzheimers.

37. Oh how I WISH someone asked him that , so he'd spell it out in black and white.
WE know, but important distinctions like that rarely get articulated publicly.

Also funny how these were the same folks who wanted the government make all the decisions regarding the Schiavos' marriage.

7. Friend of mines mother was in a nursing home for Alzheimer's. A lovely
woman, devoted wife and mother. I just loved her. One day I went with my friend and her father for a visit. It was all very nice but we all knew she didn't really know us. A man came up to her and took her by the hand and they walked off, her waving good-bye to us. I asked who the man was and both my friend and her father stated "That's her boyfriend." I was stunned but they had been educated about the ramifications of this horrid disease and just lived with it.

42. That happened with Sandra Day O'Connor's husband, too
To her credit, she chose to be happy for him. I would choose that, as well, if I were in her situation. That's just accepting reality.

Further, if I were ever so in the grip of Alzheimer's that I did not recognize my own husband, I hope he would also find someone to make him happy.

20. It is cruel
But not at all surprising from a RRRWer. They spew endlessly about the sanctity of life, marriage and family, but when you get right down to it they really don't give a shit. Individual humans are just dispensable cogs in the machines of their lives. Whenever one gets used up they just toss it and get another one.

Instead, you swing by the nursing home every once in a while, on your way to taking your new lady friend out to dinner and a movie.

26. this man NEVER felt love before in his life, nor can he
it's a sad truth about sociopaths... they think they know what love is, but it is impossible for them to feel. And since they can never fill that void with caring, and sharing, they fill it with money, crime, deceit, theft, etc.
