2. I don't care who a politician is screwing as long as it's not the country.
I don't even care about the R's on that point. What I do care care about is the moralistic hypocrisy of mostly the R's.

3. And I would prefer that he not put us in the position of making that choice.
Because obviously too many people disagree with you.

23. But his dick was more important.....
...apparently in his own mind.

He's out because of his own foolishness.

6. True
But I bet when they start getting shit on by their "choice" of representation, very few of them will have the guts to take responsibility for that choice...and will blame any and everything else!

8. I used to live in that district.
The Queens Democratic Committee selected a hack and many oppose the administration's policy on Israel/Palestine,

This seat could easily have been kept.

18. No, the people of his district didn't get the option to keep him.
Instead, he was forced to resign so we could keep ourselves pure...and lose the seat.

Polling showed most of his district didn't care about the scandal.

7. DEMS ego damaged, nothing new! Little overall damage!
the repugs already have control of the House of Reps. He is just one more troll in the TBOT and GOPimps groupies. This district may be wiped out by redistricting any way. And perhaps, this is one more lesson to be learned. NEVER, EVER take voters for granted. They have a way of teaching lessons, even when they shoot themselves in the foot to do it.

13. Too bad he didn't stay on. He didn't have to quit.
100% of the blame for all of this lies with Anthony Weiner.... nobody else.

He could've not been a creep in the first place. He could've stayed and fought for his seat in the second place.

Nobody made him quit. Except maybe his wife.

14. Texting his dick is 100% his responsibilty. The loss of the seat is not.
He did not have to be forced out in the first place.

But since he was, that seat could have been won.

And then forced him to go on show after show and lie about it.

21. I prefer it
in his pants and in Congress.

I was pissed at Weiner. He did this to himself and his pregnant wife. This wasn't some GOP dirty ops trap. HE had the camera. HE took the picture. HE posted it on the Internet. He lied about it. After that was in the news, how could he be an effective voice again? Maybe he could have overcome it in his district and still gotten things done for them. However, on a national level, the image people would think of would not be the fire-breathing progressive I appreciated, but an Internet mook. Just when he was needed most on the battlefield, he shot himself in the foot.

The fact of the matter is that his seat should have been held in that district. The Dems should have been able to find somebody who could dive in with his or her own campaign and made an impression. It would have to be someone who could make Weiner a nonissue and keep the focus on their ideas. AND he or she would have to be able to exhibit independence from the President in some ways. I don't mean dump the President, but present such a forceful persona and program that it would make people think twice about assuming they would be a rubber stamp.

ALL POLITICS IS LOCAL!!! The Dem nominee should have been someone ingrained in that district and the issues should have been kept squarely that district. It wouldn't have been easy, but it could have been done.
