On a lighter note . . .
I thought I would share with all of you this little exchange I had today in the comments attached to an http://www.centredaily.com/2011/09/13/2911811/obama-issues-flood-disaster-declaration.html">article on another site:

gwf11

Just more government waste. Govenor Perry is right about social security, FEMA, and welfare are just Fonzie schemes. We don't need Obama telling us we are flooded!

markpkessinger

No, dear. Fonzie was Henry Winkler's character on "Happy Days." The word you are looking for is "Ponzi." And your application of it to government programs demonstrates that not only do you not know how to spell it, you cannot even use the term properly in a sentence. Go back to school!

1. "We don't need Obama telling us we are flooded!"
....but you might need Obama to point out how wrong you really are....and the Fonz was an excellent mechanic and teen guru....

....please don't desecrate my fond memory of the Fonz, by associating him with the federal government....

5. LOL. Actually, it reminds me of . . .
. . . what was Gilda Radner's character on Saturday Night Live? Not Roseann Rosannadanna, but the lady who carry on about "violins" on TV?

17. You inspired me to change my response slightly.
It now reads:

No, dear. Fonzie was Henry Winkler's character on "Happy Days." The word you are looking for is "Ponzi." And the current slate of GOP candidates are collectively what is known as a "Potsie scheme."

Emily Litella, anyone?

16. But did the guy actually think hard enough to make sense of "Fonzie" and "scheme?"
Was Fonzie some sort of fraudulent schemer? Did Fonzie engage in some "scheme" he was famous for?

Maybe it was dinner time and he was thinking of a flatulent steamer.

18. I've revised my response . . .
. . . Based on a little inspiration from ClassWarrior. It now reads:

No, dear. Fonzie was Henry Winkler's character on "Happy Days." The word you are looking for is "Ponzi." And the current slate of GOP candidates are collectively what is known as a "Potsie scheme."

Emily Litella, anyone?

I like the tone of the revised response better anyway!
