1. There are some true believers out there though. At a
Peet's coffee shop this afternoon in an LA suburb I overheard a conversation between a guy who was reading the Wall St. Journal and a middle-aged woman, Both agreed that the debate was great, that Wolf did a good job, and that the R's have "several terrific candidates."

The level of stupidity is frightening.

3. Wish I could say absolutely, however,
right now the GOPers have to pander to their base. That base is far right-wing extremist.

Once the primary is over, that candidate can start coming closer to the middle to pick up the moderates. This works pretty well because, as demonstrated by the 2010 election, the American people apparently have very short memories...

Still, I truly believe that the Democrats will win back some House seats. I don't think they'll regain the majority but at least the margin will be MUCH smaller. The Senate...that's kind of a scary one with twice the number of Democrat seats up for election/reelection. I doubt highly that the Republicans will gain a majority there though.

4. The one who made most sense talked about the economy needing fixing.
He's the pizza dude. While he's still insane, the rest of them were far-gone whackjobs.

Aloha, Brahda! Hope all is well in Kaneohe and Kailua areas. Lainikai, Waimanalo and points east, west, north and south, too. Please give my best to Emergency Crew.

6. Well, if you're gonna dream, dream BIG:
The rest of us are gonna try to stem the 2012 massacre by voting for REAL DEM's in the downballots. The WH is a lost cause.
