3. So were Reagan and W. How did that work out for us?
They're useful tools. They have raw power and money (e.g., Kochs), and should not be misunderestimated.

9. My wife said basically the same thing.
Edited on Tue Sep-13-11 06:43 PM by DaveJ
She also said she voted for Obama also because he looks good. Of course, she was sorta joking. She'd never vote for a Republican.

Would you agree that he resembles a modern day Republican Dukakis? Or are they not in the same league?

13. Oh, no way. Dukakis is a brilliant man, presently a professor at one
of the colleges in the northeast. He also has the dubious honor of being the brother of one of the best actresses in the business, Olympia. Your wife and I would only go for Ricky if he promised to not speak....LOL..

17. For him, that might not be a problem
At least, I doubt he will be saying anything of substance.

Personally, he looks sort devil faced to me.

11. all this stupid talk about Obama being 'weak', it's a setup
for a fucking idiot like Perry to walk in, strong arm and act all macho and shit, be totally stupid but hey, that's okay, heh heh heh heh.

Its orchestrated and unfortunately many will fall for it (the most sad part is some here are already falling for it) - for the rough and tumble real guy, albeit with some serious character flaws, warts and all, but what the hell! He's better than that effeminate, weak caving Obama - that snooty intellectual!

Some are laughing at the idea of a Perry Presidency but please remember this:

those people didn't move, some moved here in fact.

15. He defnitely has the leathery Marlboro Man look- and good hair;
he also has an *authentic* Texas accent (not the case with GWB). For these reasons alone, I believe he will be the nominee.

16. It is the beginning of the end to Rick's campaign
The debates are destroying him because he sucks. The establishment doesn't want him. Romney has built a ground game for a decade. He will be the nominee. The rest of this is all normal ebb and flow, like when Trump tested the waters. Bachmann was torn a part and now Perry is getting his due. The establishment had already picked Romney because he paid his way.

All of it bodes very well for an Obama election regardless.

19. When Romney wins
so goes the base. I smell a third party run by the Teaparty. Maybe a Palin, although some of the stuff revealed today won't endear her to the far right. but nevertheless, a third party run might bring coattails to Obama. Could be a banner year coming up for America, and all Americans!
