3. "This is not a scientific poll"
Then it's useless as far as polling goes.

8. That's okay... Perry doesn't believe in science

So, it all works out.

4. I believe Perry to be the latest Fad in the asylum
Bachmann and now Perry will fade out. The chosen one is wearing magic underwear that purchased the ticket. It will be punched in a losing endeavor to Obama.

5. Jon Stewart had a terrific "take" on all of this some two or three weeks
Ago.

Stewart showed how at the Iowa caucus, on Sunday, Talking Heads announced that Michele Bachman as "the clear winner."

But by Monday night, that thought had been adjusted to "Perry was the clear winner."

And of course, the thing is, as Jon S. goes on to explain in another night's comedy segment - Ron Paul actually came in second in overall voting during the caucus. The fact of his coming in second was not mentioned a single time during the week's Iowa caucus coverage on MainStream Media.

The Republican Elite are trying to find something that will stick. And they can't do it, unless they actually consider their version of "UFO guy" Dennis Kucinich. (During the primary run offs in spring/summer 2008, when people were asked about various policies, Dennis prevailed as having the most popular policy ideas, as long as his name was not associated with the policies.)

It is a sad reflection of our nation's banana republic status, that in both parties the person with the best ideas doesn't get any support from those running this country.

10. OK, Ron Paul has 2 good ideas.
Getting out of the wars & legalizing drugs.

OK, 3. No corporate bailouts.

I suppose if you ignore his racism, his tax notions, his anti-regulatory stuff, and the rest of his lunacy, you could say he has good ideas.

11. I support him on the regulatory stuff, for the following reason:
Edited on Wed Sep-14-11 03:11 PM by truedelphi
We do not at all regulate stuff now. We simply hand over a process of approval to a group of mostly industry-approved. government supported thugs who get huge salaries to tell us that stuff that is dangerous is actually safe.

Witness the Corexit mess in the Gulf. A non-studied item (watch the video relating to it in my sig line) is used - tens of millions of gallons of it. The fish (and people) are sick and the fishing industry in the Gulf is dead. Many of us no longer eat seafood because of that crap - and the labeling laws are so loose, who knows where the fish you eat came from. Most of the time, you can only tell where it was processed.

Look at today's greatest page about the bees dying and EPA-approved Clothianidin, the Bayer created, and EPA supported, pesticide that is ruining the life cycle of plants and killing the be4es.

I am becoming a libertarian, not because I want Big Government to stop helping us, but because after twenty one years of my dealing with the Fat Cats at Monsanto, Novartis, et al, they continue to win, using "trade secrets" as a way to keep the public from understanding what they are doing. While the people continue to lose, even though we people are the ones footing the huge bill for the revolving doors between industry and the regulatory commissions, agencies, panels, forums et al.

As far as racism, I have no idea if Ron Paul is a racist or not. My mother, God rest her soul, was racist in the fifties and sixties, and then, through integration, she worked side by side with blacks and became an ardent supporter of their rights to have what all of us middle-incomed people had.

For what it is worth, class consoiusness is the new racism.

I do know that every single one of the Upper Elite, Elected and Appointed Bastards now in the halls of Congress and WH offices are very "Class conscious." I doubt that most of them would do more than step over my dead body, if I collapsed in one of "their" airports while wearing my jeans and tie-dyed.

12. Unfortunately when RP refers to "legalizing drugs and alternative meds" he is refering less to weed

and more to snake oil salesmen and faith healers. So you might get your weed, but your doctor/pharmacist might also get to sell you sugar pills and tell you they're antibiotics.

6. I Still Hope That Slick Rick Becomes The GOP Presidential Nominee
I still hope that Slick Rick Perry becomes the Republican presidential nominee, but that's because I hope that elsewhere in the country, participating voters have better sense than to let a politician of his stripe become President.

Of course I thought the same thing about the American electorate back in 2000.

7. I'm surprised by that

While it is tough to be the judge of some sort of hideous mutant beauty contest, Perry seemed to evince some humanity at a couple of points.

Huntsman got some really bad advice between debates, and his attempts to attract interest were pathetic. Someone must have told him not to seem so sane.

Romney makes me laugh by the way he attempts to synthetically emote and project "energy".

Did anyone else notice Bachmann just staring off into space when Perry was speaking directly to her?

9. I think that is the natural look for her
staring off into space. Her first firing ought be the makeup artist or the plastic surgeon.
