In the newest polling, Obama leads Perry by 11 points.
Perry's approval rating is 68% with "strongly conservative" voters, compared to Obama's 80% approval rating with liberal Democrats. Meanwhile, Perry has a favorable rating of just 19% with moderates, compared to Obama's approval rating of 50% with self-described moderates of all parties, including 73% approval from moderate Democrats and 26% approval from moderate Republicans.

The only Republican who doesn't trail Obama by double digits in the general election is Mitt Romney, who can't survive the primary.

So... you still want to tell me what a horrible position we're in?

1. But...Obama can't win...he just can't...
He's not progressive enough. Nobody will vote for him. Well...some people, like us, won't, anyhow. We need a primary, so that we can vote for someone who will lose for sure. We have a point to make! :sarcasm:

2. It's more a matter of
how Obama is governing now.

9. Is it? I'd like to see how he'll govern with a fresh Democratic
Congress. That's where I'm working. Too many obstacles right now for him to get much done. Let's see what he can really do. What do you say?

20. He had one.
Overwhelmingly Democratic in the House and towards the end a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate. What did he do with that? A watered down health care plan, and only once his arm was twisted DADT repeal.

8. Oh, if the GOP picks Perry, Obama will win.
It has nothing to do with Obama's turning out to be a real loser -- it's that the GOP seems to be locked into choosing a really batshit-crazy worse loser.

It's part and parcel of America's decline.

4. I will wager a bet on that
He is not the establishment pick, and the ground game is all Romney. Just like McCain was the establishment pick. And Bush. And Dole. Long list of fucking losers.

10. The Tea Party hates Romney. They'll run a third party candidate
if it's Romney. Guaranteed.

11. And that would be absolutely Delicious!
Run a third party candidate!!!! PLEASE!!!!

A Tea Party Candidate - the most reviled group of people poll after poll, even more than the monsters under their bed, the Muslims in this country. Saw that poll not too long ago. Siphon off about 20 percent from the Republican candidate in the General election. Can't complain about that.

Barack Obama and whoever the GOP Death Squad nominates, there should be no real contest IMHO no matter how bad everything else is because with the GOP Death Squad, it WILL be MUCH worse (and people will KNOW it by the time the GOP Death Squad primary is over).

6. So is 2012 the next election to be stolen? As far as I know the country still hasn't
gotten rid of the thousands of electronic voting machines that provide no paper trail.

Huh?

Horrible might be a slight overstatement, but not by much.

It's looking worse by the day for us.

21. Cherry picking?
Sort of like ignoring ALL other polling data conducted withing a 2 week time frame, and basing your opinion ONLY on the poll that demonstrates a stronger lead?

Is that the cherry picking you refer to?

18. No way. The Tea Party will never go for Romney.
The screaming wingnuts on the right won't vote for a Mormon, or a former moderate, let alone both.

In any event, in Obama vs. Romney it's Obama by four.
