Downed infrastructure will cost Americans billions.
The closed bridge between Kentucky and Indiana is on interstates that help link Louisville to Indianapolis and then on to Chicago to the north and then on down to
the south all the way to the Gulf Coast and this is a vital route for manufacturing and trade not to mention all the business and personal needs for the people
who live in the greater Louisville area. Do republicans hate Obama so much that they are willing to delay infrastructure projects in order to try to win the White House
in 2012? I hope all those stuck in traffic because of the closed bridge will thank a republican for this mess.

<Larry Summers left his New Albany, Ind., home two hours early Monday morning and was still late to work after his normally 15-minute
commute to downtown Louisville turned into a three-hour ordeal.

“It was hell on Earth getting into work,” he said.

Summers was in good company. Thousands of commuters struggled to start their work week after the Sherman Minton Bridge was shut
down indefinitely Friday evening because of cracks in its steel support beams.

After planning through the weekend, Indiana and Kentucky officials were prepared for the longer drive times — and in some places the
gridlock — that resulted from closing the Interstate 64 bridge.>

BTW it was a republican who started the interstate highway program, Dwight Eisenhower.

5. It's a 20 minute detour.
Increased traffic aside, I have no idea why it's taking so long for people to reroute.

FYI, they ARE fixing it now.

Surely we are not advocating that bridges be torn down and rebuilt, "just because?"

6. In our splendid Age Of Austerity, I wonder how much of it will simply not be rebuilt.

7. It's FAR more important that the 2%ers continue to be able to afford to
helicopter across town than it is to maintain public thoroughfares and bridges that those ICKY COMMON PEOPLE use.
