Bystanders pull motorcycle driver trapped under burning car
This group is credited with saving a man's life by working together to lift a burning car and pull a man to safety.

It was a "life-saving move that the Logan Police Department does not want to go unnoticed," said Jeff Curtis, assistant chief of the police department in Logan, Utah.

Police said the BMW pulled out of a parking lot and in front of Wright. Curtis said the motorcyclist tried to avoid the car, which resulted in him laying the motorcycle down.

After crashing, gas spilled out of the motorcycle and ignited, engulfing both the motorcycle and the front end of the car in flames, Curtis said. The motorcyclist became lodged underneath the burning vehicle.

5. Love stories like this...
...a few years ago in Vegas, a girl (age something like 10 or 12) got hit and pinned under a large SUV. Some drunks were loitering around and saw what happened and they all ran over and lifted the SUV off her and saved her life. Then all but one of them fled before the police showed up. The one who stayed was feted as a hero, got his name in the paper and everything. Then the city of Las Vegas paid... for his bus fare out of town, back "home" where he had come from, to a family who said they didn't really want anything to do with him.

I thought it was funny in a sad/ironic kind of way. But still, a handful of sots turned out to be good Samaritans that day, and that continues to make me smile when I think of it.
