"Should society just let him die?" "Yeah!!!!"
What's scarier: the candidates or the audience?

2. They deserve each other.
It's become acceptable to applaud the death penalty, sick people dying, be a racist, be a xenophobe, be a homophobe and hate poor people. This country has truly lost its way.

6. True
But why do the rest of us have to pay the price.

First cheering executions and then cheering sick people dying. If some of them had the opportunity to round us up and gas us, I'm sure plenty would be more than willing.

4. And they all know somehow . . .
That they'll never be the one with a terminal curable diagnosis and no insurance. Not them personally, anyone they know, or anyone they're related to. It's nice to see the heartlessness the Republicans have spawned on such proud display.

7. I had to listen to it again to make sure I had heard it right
That was more disturbing than the applause for Rick Perry's execution string.

8. Oh, you heard it right! There were loud screams of "let him die!" in response
to the question posed to Ron Paul.

17. I have yet to hear anyone scream "let him die"
I listened several times with powered headphones and don't hear it. I do hear two or three people screaming "yeah".

Maybe you have a better link that you can share where there were loud screams of "let him die"?

20. I don't know what to tell you. We heard it loud and clear (we were listerning live) and even heard
someone gasp in response (perhaps a moderator or even a candidate). We heard the screams very clearly, and we commented on them right away. It took a few seconds for Ron Paul to begin his response because of this incident.

21. Yes, and all the unborn babies and one disabled person (Terry Schiavo). Other disabled people
like the young man in the scenario described last night...not so much.

Who continued to stand on that stage and smile after that happened.

They all exposed themselves by showing how they talk and think behind closed doors.

19. This sort of behavior doesn't surprise me since I read The Authoritarians.
It's sort of a personality trait. These people are deeply fearful, and they have a little well of anger inside that makes them anxious to see others punished. They actually say they feel a sense of pleasure when someone suffers for doing something they consider wrong. They'll always be for inflicting pain, so long as they can do it safely, from behind an authority figure.

23. The candidates, because they aren't as open and honest about it,
but feel the same way.

At least some of the audience members were honest about their own reprehensibility.
