Pawlenty's endorsement
Source: Politico

Well, that was fast. In a Fox and Frends appearance and an email, Pawlenty gets it over with:

...snip...

Dear Friend,

Great crises often produce great leaders. Unfortunately, sometimes the timing isn't right, and neither is the leader.

Barack Obama came into office in the midst of a great economic crisis. Although hopes were high, he did not rise to the occasion. Now that the clouds of enthusiasm and excitement have parted, we see he was obviously unsuited for the task at hand.

President Obama has failed to meet America's economic challenges.

His three years of spending, regulating and taxing have not restarted the economy. Unemployment remains at a shocking 9.1 percent. Economic growth is hovering on the edge of a renewed recession.

Abroad, the standing of the United States appears uncertain and adrift under the failed leadership of a president who prefers chastising allies to condemning foes.

Fortunately, America may get a second chance: Mitt Romney is running for president, and I am proud to endorse him.

Can you say "Obamneycare"? Apparently, neither can Pawlenty.

2. W.A.B.O.B.S.
It's impressive how much spin, distortion, and outright lies he managed to pack into such a relatively brief statement. :puke:

4. It's the economy stupid. That's how the Republicans will run against President Obama.

We need to counter that by convincing people the Republicans are not on their side.

We need to convince people the Republicans care for the rich, and only care for the rich.

We need to convince people the Republicans will do terrible things to Social Security,
Medicare, and Medicaid. The Republicans will do terrible things if given the chance.

It's too late to put the blame for the economy where it belongs,
at the feet of the Bush administration.

President Obama was "too nice" when he took office.

He didn't place enough blame on the Bush administration for our economic woes.
He didn't place enough blame on the Bush administration for letting too big to fail banks gamble.
He didn't place enough blame on the Bush administration for letting the income gap grow this big.
He didn't place enough blame on the Bush administration for the onerous tax breaks for the rich.

He didn't place enough blame on the Bush administration for the cost overruns of Medicare Part D.

He didn't place enough blame on the Bush administration for our wars and atrocities (torture!).

President Obama is a "nice" guy. He doesn't deserve the blame. He inherited a mess.

Someone gets the blame. Someone gets the blame for the economy, TARP, and the wars.

President Obama doesn't like to place blame. If he doesn't place the blame, he gets the blame.

Stop being such a "nice" guy President Obama. Make the Republicans and Blue Dogs and Lieberman pay.
Make them understand there is a price to pay for crossing you.

I find the following statement ironic,
"Abroad, the standing of the United States appears uncertain and adrift under the failed leadership of a president who prefers chastising allies to condemning foes."
It's not just abroad you prefer to chastise allies to condemning foes President Obama.
It's a lot easier chastising your supporters on your Left to condemning your foes on the Right.
Stop chastising your supporters on your Left. We're tired of it. Use us to negotiate better deals.

We have to pay for the services we get. Give the American people a choice.
Ask them if they want Social Security cuts or they want the rich to pay more taxes.

Ask them if they want us to get out of all these wars we seem to be bogged down in.

Ask them if they want corporations creating jobs overseas or here.
Point out the Republican policies make it easy for corporations to create jobs overseas.

13. Pawlenty Endorses Romney
Source: nyt

'Many of Mr. Pawlenty’s contributors and supporters had been waiting for a signal from him in the escalating contest between Mr. Romney and Mr. Perry. And Mr. Pawlenty had been looking for help in retiring a campaign debt of at least $500,000.

In a statement announcing Mr. Pawlenty as a national co-chairman of his campaign, Mr. Romney said: “Tim will be a trusted adviser as I move forward with my campaign. Tim has always been an advocate for lower taxes, reduced spending and an environment where jobs can be created. It is an honor to have him serve as co-chair to my campaign for the presidency.”

Mr. Pawlenty, in an interview Monday morning on “Fox and Friends,” said of Mr. Romney, “I believe he’s going to be our party’s nominee.”'
