Just shovel the money out of airplanes
"Big Business" is setting on billions of dollars we are told. The common man is broke, his brother in law is out of work, and his parents who just got tossed out of their home of 40 years and will soon be moving in with him. With the education that little Johnny got from P.S. 82 there's no chance that any college in the country is going to offer him a scholarship; the job he has right now behind the counter at a convenience store may be the best he will ever have in his life.

There must be demand before business will hire. The common man has no money to spend and his obligations grow by the day. The young have a bleak future and can not afford to sustain themselves as it is, they can not spend. In a rational world Government would be borrowing at today's unheard of financing rates and spending the borrowed funds on anything and everything. But Republicans won't allow that. And so the question remains, how best to get people to spend>

Well, how about we use the Air Force? Let's fly transport planes over every city in the country and just shovel money out the back. Free cash for everyone, just go out and grab a hand-full. And for folks in the country, we'll toss the cash out the back of the rural mail carrier's vehicles; just shovel-load after shovel-load of the green shit flying right out the back. The rich can't really object, hell it will all be there's in a couple of weeks anyway. How could they object? Do we have to give every dime directly to them? Can't we at least hold on to a little bit of it for a few days?

Anyway, we should try it - why not? Anyone with a memory will recall when Bush just mailed out checks. Hell, he did it twice. What Republican could condemn that? Let's do it again.

1. I always thought the people should have been bailed out instead of the banks.
The banks would have been bailed out by people being able to pay their loans, mortgages, credit cards, etc.

2. Exactly
Something along the lines of the cash for clunkers program (clunker mortgages)

The banks would have gotten the money eventually, but the people would have gotten free of the immediate debt load, kept their houses and been in better shape in a consumer driven economy that is important.

3. YES - the bail-out should have been from the bottom up

4. Supposedly the Fed gave foreign banks trillions of dollars...

Why can't they print a few bucks for a works program? Are they afraid of inflation? In this economy, I don't see much danger in that.
