6. its a good cartoon
but it implies that the fire is out.
that is simply not the case and mr obama has not really trained the hose on the fire's hot spots.
he didn't make the mess but i fear he is sweeping too much of it under the carpet to insure that all the embers are extinguished.

10. one change i'd make
I rather think that Obama would be using the Elephant's trunk as the hose...with his approval as low as it is, he should realize the only way out is to stand up to
some of these tea party extremists.

13. Pretty much.
All it's missing is a guy in deep dark red with a sickle and hammer chopping at the firetruck hose yelling "LOOK AT THIS MESS YOU'RE DOING NOTHING ABOUT!"

21. Why then does the Republican Party get away with their mantra?
They chant "tax cuts and deregulation" like Zen Buddhist monks, despite the evidence of a trashed economy, a disparity in wealth levels unseen since slaves were building the pyramids and an abhorrent real unemployment rate hovering near 20% and NO ONE in the media or in the blogosphere is able to successfully call them to the carpet for it?

I know I should not be too shocked by this, but seriously these statements and the smug, assumed manner in which they are spat out by the Conservative asshats of this country are stomach turning.

Tax cuts do NOT pay for themselves.
The same way that WARS do not pay for themselves.
The same way that "deregulating" industry does NOT spur hiring.

This is NOT my opnion. I am not making a political statement about what I believe here. I am merely looking at the results of the last 30 years and comparing it objectively to the preceding 30 years and find that this "smaller government, lower taxes" idea wanting.

CALL THEM ON IT PLEASE....don't allow Perry and Mittens and the rest of the arsonists to get their hands on the matches AGAIN without a fight, without making them get on record with statements that can be hung around their necks like a millstone.

For god's sake....Dukakis was sunk by a bad PICTURE! This dogmatic devotion to failed ideology is at LEAST as bad a big hat in a tank for Christ's sake!!!!!!!
