Bush went into the school knowing a plane had already hit 1 of the towers on a bright clear morning?
Under normal circumstances I might write that off and still go into the school to read a book to the kids.

But if I had received a PDB from the CIA a few weeks before that day entitled, Bin Laden determined to strike in US, I think I could have put two and two together immediately and canceled that meeting with the kids.

Because even if turned out that it was the best possible scenario and a single plane had somehow accidentally crashed into a building full of people everyone would understand canceling the reading of the books to the kids to take care of an emergency situation like that.

This is common sense stuff isn't it?

1. don't forget CON-di admitted she knew there would be a Highjacking
But she said they thought it would be a "regular" highjacking (not planes flying
into buildings)

What NO ONE ever pinned her down on ...was that she/they never did anything
about preventing a "regular" highjacking.

If those guys had never gotten on the plane...there would be no 9/11

13. I will never forget that moment when I heard her say that - and NO ONE
challenged her. I also remember hearing that the airlines knew nothing. If the doors were at the least bolted
or something...they couldn't have highjacked.

I imagine they have rationalized it all ...bet some psychiatrist has told them "there was nothing you could have
done..just let it go."

24. I thought this quote from Bush spokesman Ari Fleischer was even more revealing
Edited on Mon Sep-12-11 08:44 AM by NNN0LHI
http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,238199,00.html

Responding to the subtext, that the administration could have prevented 9/11, kept Fleischer and Condoleeza Rice busy for the rest of the week. The explanation is the inherently obvious one: They surprised us, plain and simple, with a planes-as-missiles tactical leap. "There's been a long-standing awareness in the intelligence community, shared with the president, about the potential for bin Laden to have hijacking in the traditional sense," Fleischer said. Bush, he added, put out a secret alert based on the information the administration had, which wasn't much. Added Rice Thursday: "The government did everything that it could — in a period in which the information was very generalized, in which there was nothing specific in which to react — and had this president known of something more specific or known that a plane was going to be used as a missile, he would have acted on it,"

"All of this reporting about hijacking was about traditional hijacking." ...

- Condi Rice

And then instead of getting fired, which would have been the ONLY logical thing to do
to a National Security Adviser who had failed as badly as she did, she is PROMOTED to
the job of Secretary of State.

Guess she must have been doing something right in someone's estimation, huh?

Had no difficulty finding the quote. Just typed in:

Condi, traditional highjacking

Which got corrected to "Condi, traditional hijacking" and gave me 9,550,000 results.
Perhaps all references to "Condoleeza" having said it have been scrubbed but the "Condi" pertains.

Hopefully people are saving all such things to their hard drives so future historians don't have to
rely on what remains of the internets.

2. To my dying day, I will think of Condie Rice at the 911 hearing...
being confronted with the PDB and required to give the title of that obvious warning document. That she would dare try to justify the inactions and her incompetence after receiving that neon-lit warning is beyond appalling. How do people become so nonchalant about lying and denying with respect to something so monumentally significant?

49. Condi Rice & her Role in 9/11
Just came across this website by accident and am so glad to be here and to see other people saying the things I've been talking about for years. I loathe Rice - well I think the whole Bush regime are guilty of high treason. They all had that trademark arrogance and holding forth as to say "how dare we even question them?"! Rice's comments that she was busy setting up her offices, had important meetings, blah, blah, blah, while the Clinton people had begged them to look at the intelligence data, agents in the field had reached out over and over only to be slapped down and told to go away and there she sat in front of the microphones, with her blatant revisions of events and reasons.

I still hold out hope that all those involved will be investigated in the light of day by a Special Prosecutor and finally brought to account for their actions. The worst part is, aside from the horror of them getting away with all they did, is that if there's no accounting, then how "bad" were the things they did?! If truly, as I believe with all my heart, high crimes were committed and yet nothing is ever done what will it take before we draw a line in the sand and say this is enough. How crazy is it that Kenneth Starr spent how much money?! and took those years to go after and attack President Clinton for what basically was a private matter, but somehow the things that happened during the Bush WH aren't as important? I cannot reconcile this.

about Commander AWOL just going into that school after being told by Rice what happened - which clearly meant it was understood it was an attack and so she called him (that part is also lost in the discussions), says so much about Dumbya just allowing things to happen. They were either complicit or incredibly incompetent! I made an OP (see if you can find it) just a few minutes ago, showing the August 6th PDB, where B*sh chose fishing over being a leader. That was the real failure - he did nothing but try to catch some bass!

57. The "slipper story"
resident Bush: "But the day ended on a relatively humorous note. The agents said, "You'll be sleeping downstairs. Washington's still a dangerous place." And I said no, I can't sleep down there, the bed didn't look comfortable. I was really tired, Laura was tired, we like our own bed. We like our own routine. You know, kind of a nester. Like the way things are. I knew I had to deal with the issue the next day and provide strength and comfort to the country, and so I needed rest in order to be mentally prepared. So I told the agent we're going upstairs, and he reluctantly said okay. Laura wears contacts, and she was sound asleep. Barney was there. And the agent comes running up and says, "We're under attack. We need you downstairs," and so there we go. I'm in my running shorts and my T-shirt, and I'm barefooted. Got the dog in one hand, Laura had a cat, I'm holding Laura --"

Mrs. Bush: "I don't have my contacts in, and I'm in my fuzzy house slippers --"

11. Atty General Let The Eagle Soar Ashcroft stopped flying commercial airlines July 26, 2001, the proof
is in their actions... that is one of the most damning. They knew something was going to happen, and instead of taking strong action to prevent it, the one that was flying commercial airlines stopped doing so in late July because the warnings were getting dire, that he was advised more than likely that they couldn't have the nation's top cop being on a hijacked plane they knew was coming down the line at some point.

16. he misled and redirected the questioning whenever asked. here's a detailed story of it, and if you
want to refresh your memory on it, it's very interesting. He did go before the 9/11 Commission and just diverted away from the fact that it was an unspecified threat, and therefore that's why he did it. Problem is, as people said, he should have sought out these people in the threat that he was told about, so that it didn't occur, but since they won't release all the files on the threats and what really happened, we have to believe he did nothing!

20. Here is the actual CBS article for July 26, 2001 about that
http://www.propagandamatrix.com/ashcroft_flying_high.html

Ashcroft Flying High

WASHINGTON, July 26, 2001

(CBS) Fishing rod in hand, Attorney General John Ashcroft left on a weekend trip to Missouri Thursday afternoon aboard a chartered government jet, reports CBS News Correspondent Jim Stewart.

In response to inquiries from CBS News over why Ashcroft was traveling exclusively by leased jet aircraft instead of commercial airlines, the Justice Department cited what it called a "threat assessment" by the FBI, and said Ashcroft has been advised to travel only by private jet for the remainder of his term.

"There was a threat assessment and there are guidelines. He is acting under the guidelines," an FBI spokesman said. Neither the FBI nor the Justice Department, however, would identify what the threat was, when it was detected or who made it.

A senior official at the CIA said he was unaware of specific threats against any Cabinet member, and Ashcroft himself, in a speech in California, seemed unsure of the nature of the threat. snip

The Justice Department insists that it wasn't Ashcroft who wanted to fly leased aircraft. That idea, they said, came strictly from Ashcroft's FBI security detail. The FBI had no further comment.

I don't just mean his frozen look of indecision in the classroom. I mean they stayed at the school for quite a while afterwards setting up a little command center, addressing the nation from the school--surrounding himself with a backdrop of sacrificial teachers and students. Remember how the stated reason he didn't get back to Washington sooner was because they thought he was also a target? If that was true, then he endangered everyone's life at that school by staying there so long.

Or even that he knew for sure one was ever coming. But there is enough evidence to prove that he was warned of the possible threat.

But he should have been truthful about that with the American people even if it had cost him the next election.

Every decision they made was based on getting Bush elected. The safety of our citizens became meaningless to them. That was obvious.

41. Condi Rice was shown on one of the 9/11 shows
yestrerday claiming that Bush's reaction on hearing(from her) that a plane had hit the tower was "hmmm, that's a strange accident". There is no way in hell the Bush administration thought this to be an accident at first, they had the information that Bin Ladin had plans for an attack on US soil. My guess is the the conversation was more like Condi: "They've hit the World Trade Center" George: "Oh shit".

44. More like -
Condi: "They've hit the World Trade Center"

George: "I know, we're still waiting for the Pentagon hit and then we can get this show on the road."

60. My Pet Goat
I'm going to have to give W a bit of the benefit of the doubt here. The WH gets memos like that all the time, and "Bin Laden determined to strike in U.S." was neither news nor specific. It's easy in retrospect to "put two and two together," but hardly anyone on 9/11 recognized what was going on until the second plane struck.

The problem wasn't what W did on 9/11 but what he did afterward.

62. CondiLIEza's and Bush's blatant lying notwithstanding,...

the intelligence services and the Bush administration knew that, as you indicated, "Osama was determined to strike in the USA", and they knew terrorists had been hatching plans to use hijacked aircraft to crash into buildings. At the prior G8 meeting the concern that terrorist might want to crash a plane into the the building where the meeting was held lead to the installation of antiaircraft missiles as a defensive measure, and Bush slept on a US aircraft carrier for further protection from the chance that hijacked aircraft might dive bomb him in a suicide attack as he slept. They were also aware that the WTC was a prime target on the terrorists' lists of targets to take out. There had also been warnings flooding in from multiple intelligence services all over the world about plans for terrorist attacks and possible hijackings to take place in the near future in the US.

For more details on the above, see the documentary "Press for Truth" about the 9/11 widows (known as the Jersey girls) and other family members of 9/11 victims and their hard fought struggle against political opposition to get an official inquiry into 9/11: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22ap-ZiqkNM

So then an airliner flies into the WTC tower on a perfectly clear day and they would have you believe their first assumption is that it must have been an accident. No way in hell do I believe it.

Meanwhile, CIA Director George Tenet was told of the crash a few minutes after it happened. A messenger gave him the news as he was eating breakfast with former Senator David Boren in a Washington restaurant three blocks from the White House. Boren says Tenet was told that the World Trade Center had been attacked by an airplane: “I was struck by the fact that used the word attacked.” An aide then handed a cell phone to Tenet, and Tenet made some calls, showing that at least some at the highest levels of the Bush administration were talking about an attack at this time. Tenet then said to Boren, “You know, this has bin Laden’s fingerprints all over it.” {ABC, 9/14/02}

Even after Andy Card allegedly whispered in Numbnut's ear, "America is under attack" they let him sit there for a further 7 minutes listening to the Pet Goat story and then they hang around the school for approximately another 15 minutes or so for him to make a previously scheduled 9:30am speech while there were hijacked aircraft (some real and some faked for the that morning's excercises) wandering around the country which no one in authority had a real handle on at that time (allegedly). Of course if they knew the target list that morning and they knew for sure Booker Elementary wasn't on it, it could explain their indifference.

Edit to clarify: The fake hijacked aircraft I referred to above as far as I know would have just been blips inserted into controllers' screens portraying hijacked aircraft for the purpose of the exercises. I am not aware that there were real aircraft flying around and pretending to be hijacked aircraft.
