Am I the only one somewhat afraid to wake up tomorrow?
Look, I know. I'm going to get flamed for this, considering how many people think the whole terrorism thing is just a scare tactic, and that we shouldn't let them rule our lives. I get it, I do. But I'm just really, really afraid that I'm going to wake up tomorrow morning, check my iPhone like I do first thing when I wake up every morning, and have an update from my CBS app saying something to the effect of "Bomb set off in Lower Manhattan, casualties incoming." I'm not saying I want it to happen, obviously. I hope to God it doesn't. And I know I shouldn't even worry about it, because if something happens it happens. But it's just like...why do any more people need to die? It just scares me.

Sorry for any aggravation I may have caused. Just kind of wanted to get this out there. Apologies.

2. The only thing you have to fear is fear itself.
They want you afraid so you will be willing to give up your rights.

I jumped put of airplanes in the Army, there is nothing I am afraid off.

Turn off the tv and go do something tomorrow, something fun.

We are going to the beach, not into the water.

Relax.

15. Nothing will happen at a mall.
Terror, terror, terrior.

It is getting old.

I had a fear of heights, I overcame it by jumping out of airplanes.

The first jump was scary, after that a piece of cake.

"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself" is long forgotten. Long Live the Patriot Act!

We're ALL Neocons now, at least 50% of the time!

4. Man its ok. Sometimes people have that sixth sense. Maybe what
you should do is leave for the weekend. Go to CT or even upstate NJ to a hotel. Just get away and don't watch anything to do with 9-11. It gets to be to much. I honestly don't know how the people who lost loved ones handle it to be reminded over and over every year. Enough already.

7. Thankfully, I'm not actually IN the city.
I'm on Long Island at my college. So I'm not worried for myself, if it seemed like that in my post. I mean, I don't think I have any reason to be. I'm just worried for other people.

More Americans are killed yearly by lightning strikes than terror attacks.

19. My iphone gets breaking news updates from CNN and MSNBC...
I usually don't wake up, but undoubtedly would if one came through in the wee hours. That said, I am not overly concerned.

But, I've already received a similar message of concern from my sister in Atlanta. She's not hyper concerned, but like you, can't help but consider the possibilities.

I guess, I'll just quote Ms. Doris Day: Que sera sera....

20. Why would anybody attack on the precise day they're expected to?
My guess is that 9/11 doesn't mean jack shit to people who might want to harm us, it only has meaning to Americans.

Plus, I'm having a bit of trouble with the concept of a "credible, non-specific" threat. Almost seems like an oxymoron. If you've done enough work to establish a threat as credible, you'd almost have to have learned where, when, and/or how it was planned.

More media fear mongering, probably to hype their weekend long 9/11 programming.

21. Because it demonstrates POWER
When your enemy tells you he is going to hurt you on a specific date and time and implies there is NOTHING you can do about it. Then does it--it reinforces the terror in terrorism and powerlessness to do anything about it.

24. That was another thing I thought of.
Any defensive measures being taken, ineffective as they may be, I feel should be maintained up until next Sunday. Because, who knows? Maybe if an attack WAS in the works, they'd do it on Monday or Tuesday after our guard was let down. Paranoid much?

37. Very true. This happens every Sept 11th... like clockwork...plus...
Plus.. the European Union Economy is in melt down. Which could triger a world depression (if we're not already there.)

This is a very dangerous time. A large scale false-flag attack now , would serve two purposes.

Re-inforce fear in the USA and keep the proles in line with Martial Law.

And it would keep people distracted from the economic crash.

Second, if they blame it on Iran.. this would give the NeoCons just the excuse they have been waiting for to invade Iran.
