Goes against the grain. Why is he bringing this back? My thought is that he is doing it 1)to shore up conservative support amongst rural seniors who are his base 2) to piss off all Quebecors and ensure the separatist party Quebecois and the Bloc Quebecois regain strength. Quebecers are progressives. The Bloc Quebecois tanked in the last election. They were literally wiped out. Those ridings all went to the NDP (left party). Harper wants to see a divided left and shoring up the separatist Bloc Quebecois (who hate the Queen) is the easiest way to do this. What an ***hole! He would put Canada at risk to make the left weak.

1. That's odd -- "royal" is a French word.

4. They stick an "e" on the end.
And make up for it in other areas -- like taking a lop off the top.

2. ALL right-wing government leaders, wherever they are
would be glad to put their country at risk in the name of preventing a left-wing electoral victory. That side of the spectrum hasn't been loyal to their countries since at least 1980-their support of "free trade" is the proof of this.

11. I'm not antimonarchist. I just think we don't need a "Royal" in front of all of our agencies.

12. Promoting a party that wants to break up Canada when that party has been weakened is a non issue?

14. What would Canada do if the Quebecois break away....
that would cut off the Maritimes. I've seen a few plans that date back to the Revolutionary War (US Colonial) claims of the St. Lawrence area. I have friends up there that way back, said they would try to petition the US.

17. The Queen is still on all the coins. It is just that we were headed in one direction, less royal,
and now we are headed back in time. And there is no reason for doing this except political calculation. That is what the guy is all about. Tiny % here and there with these political decisions.
