Aaron Brown will be interviewed on tomorrow's NPR Weekend Edition Sunday
Several DUers expressed interest in Aaron Brown and recall his around the clock reporting from 9/11-- his then FIRST day at CNN.

While many remember him rather fondly, I recognize that some do not. But for those interested, NPR's Weekend Edition Sunday (tomorrow).

After its broadcast tomorrow, you will find a link to listen to it, or you can listen live:
http://www.npr.org/templates/rundowns/rundown.php?prgId=10 (sorry, I heard a promo for this and there is nothing more descriptive posted yet)

Those who want to discuss/debate Brown's relative journalistic merits and catch up on where he has been since his CNN departure, here is a thread from earlier today: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x1912171

**end of public service announcement** ;)

1. thank you
I owe Aaron Brown a debt of gratitude for his professionalism on that awful day. He got me through it simply by doing his job so well.

2. I see Aaron as a very stand up guy that did a great job reporting on 911.
Aaron was in the Seattle area (where I'm from) and he was great on the news here for years.

3. Aaron Brown did a great job of reporting during Katrina. He told the truth about how selfish
the WH & Pentagon were being while people suffered.

5. I wrote him an email during the work-up to the Iraq war
Asking why they were only having Generals on and not anybody who thought war was not the answer. He answered back that it had been decided and so peace was "irrelevant." Kudos I guess for answering back but since then I've always thought he was an asshole. I used to like the "morning paper" section of his show.

6. He did answer emails -- felt like a penpal for a while.
We parted ways when he started down the easy path of propaganda -- beginning with the rightwing attacks on Paul Wellstone's memorial gathering... as if THEY were the experts on what his friends and family should be feeling and doing. Aaron Brown got onboard with little tirades about "taste," and bought into the scripts more and more - including the lead-up to Iraq...

Sad.

7. I wonder what Brown thinks of Anderson Cooper,
that upstart youngun that pretty well took his job.

8. Just heard the interview....on NPR
It was all too brief, but good. Check out the link in the OP if you want to listen to the audio later...
