A Billion Dollars cost you $7, if you have a job.
I keep waiting for someone to point this out. It seems so self evident.

If you divide the number of Americans with jobs into a billion you get about $7.

How different the conversation sounds when you put it that way.

Sept 7,2003. President Bush asks for $600 from each wage earner to continue the fight on terror.

Sept.19,2008. President Bush asks for $5,000 from each wage earner to rescue failing financial institutions.
Jan. 28,2009. Previous number (5K) updated to $6,500.

The Pentagon takes $5,ooo per year from each wage earner. $100 a week. $20 bucks a day. $2.50 an hour.

1. Interesting way of looking at it.
I once calculated that at one point Rush Limbaugh made $8.76 for every Iraqi killed or made refugee. No wonder he was a supporter of the war!
