How can THE VIEW stump Cheney?
Edited on Sat Sep-10-11 07:32 AM by Laura PourMeADrink
Cheney is notorious for evading questions about his sins

As No Hypocrisy posted:

Cheney will appear on The View next week

My theory is that people that question him are always too general...like "Why did we invade Iraq is there
were no WMDs" That leaves it open for him to spin.

I think I would ask, "You always say that EVERYONE in the world said Saddam had WMD. Exactly which countries
provided INDEPENDENT evidence to us."

I always cringe when he says everyone thought it and I have never ever heard anyone call him on that.

Joy Behar always asks for question ideas on Twitter. I will send her your responses.

5. Start Simple,
.

Mr Cheney,

At what point does a USA government official become 'above the law' (national and international)?
(Mr Chaney starts to squirm; smirk twitches)
Does being 'above the law' extend to only USA President/Vice President?
(Mr Chaney continues to squirm; smirk stops)
Are Secretarial Department heads also 'above the law?' How far down the chain of command does being above the law extend?
(Mr Chaney grabs chest; pacemaker goes into overdrive. Audience applause)
Is it naive to believe the Republicant Party will extend the 'above the law' immunity to Mr Obama and Mr Biden after they leave office?

6. Knowing what I know about Cheney...
he wouldn't set foot on that show if he hadn't already specified the "terms and conditions" for his appearance there. Thus, I doubt that any truly substantive or sensitive issues will even be broached.

17. Barbara is a member in good standing of the sociopathic upper class. When she says everything
she doesnt even know what that means. She will ask pretend hard questions, like: "werent we wrong in invading Iraq?". And let Dickhead get away with his perverted view. She will be an instrument for him to use. Barbara is clueless to what happens in the real world.

16. I think he's actually in a dangerous place.
I'm convinced that Cheney is a sociopath, with little to no empathy or remorse... with the sole exception of his own offspring, which is why he grudgingly pretends to support gay rights.

So I would expect him to play to that one redeeming angle.

Unfortunately for him, that's going to highlight all of the hypocrisy that stems from supporting that one position while freely sniping at soldiers, union workers, the poor, the distressed, and the disadvantaged, all of whom he does not give a shit about.

And this particular audience will not be able to help noticing the gaping emotional hole in Cheney's makeup if his total indifference to all those other people is illuminated.

Another thing to note is that Cheney can potentially damage the Republican Party as a whole for this, seeing as that party's support among voting women is already at a near-historic low. But he doesn't care about that, either. His sole purpose is to pay back his book advance, and he doesn't give a damn what happens to the Republican Party as a result.

29. His alleged civilian shoot-down order, happily ignored by the military, might be interesting.

Just heard that being discussed recently. Cheney didn't have the authority to make such an order. And presumably, American civilians would have been killed. So ... an illegal order to kill innocent Americans. He might not have a pre-packaged defense for that one yet.

30. Ask about Haliburton's dealings with Saddam when Cheney...
...ran Halliburton. But don't just ask it superficially; make Cheney's dealings with Saddam the premise of a simple question. That way answering the question confirms the premise. For example, "Dick, you and Halliburton were involved in a lot of deals with Saddam when you ran Halliburton. Did you ever meet him or his sons personally?"

And whenever he talks look very concerned and pretend you can't understand him.

I want to see the life support ambulance and secret service vans come crashing through the walls of the set when Cheney hits his panic button.

if he, like Christopher Hitchens, would be willing to demonstrate his claim that Waterboarding is not torture. Ask for volunteers from the audience to help him prove his claim.

And they should ask him about Curveball.

Oh yes, and one of them should perform a citizen's arrest while they have him there.
