It is scary when repubs begin to cooperate with this President. Makes you wonder what they
are planning.

House And Senate Leaders Reach Deal To Avert FAA Shutdown

WASHINGTON — House and Senate leaders have reached a deal that averts a looming shutdown of federal highway and aviation programs, a key GOP lawmaker said Friday.

The agreement clears the way for passage next week of a single, short-term bill that extends operating authority for the Federal Aviation Administration through the end of January and highway and transit assistance programs through the end of March, Rep. John Mica of Florida, chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee said in an interview.

1. I think if they didn't and something horrible occurred, they
know they be fucked beyond repair.

I'm sure it's not because it's a good deal for them, it's because of the ramifications if they don't go along.

2. With September 11 coming up, they might be worried
about the criticism they could face over allowing the FAA to shut down. It is a national security and a safety matter. There is a credible threat, too.

I think the other cooperation, or the lip service they are giving it, in regards to the jobs proposal, is more suspect. I think they can read polls, so they know how unpopular they are. Also, they are afraid of getting outmaneuvered by Obama on the jobs issue.

3. Tax beaks
they can strip everything else and they get what they want. To a puke, there is a lot to love about this deal.

4. Also makes you wonder what this bunch of POSERS
may have heard from their constituents during the recess. RECESS? OMG, was there ever a more appropriate term for a bunch of first-graders sucking at the Public Teat while they got massive subsidies from even MORE massive corporations and were allowed to throw tantrums on TV?
