We don't need to know this. All you're doing is instilling
fear. Do the fucking job you were elected to do and if/when
you actually prevent something, feel free to dick wave to
your heart's content. Until then, STFU and do your job.

That is all. Good night.

8. If the people on flight 93 weren't told about the other two planes,
that plane would likely have reached its target at the White House.

I think it's good that the public knows. It does a couple of things: It increases the awareness of citizens (sure, there will be a lot of false alarms and perhaps even some profiling, but it's worth it if it could stop the perpetrators from carrying out their plans). If these men truly are planning something, they must feel very nervous right now. They don't have the confidence they would have had if the plans were never revealed to the public.

Uneventful car trips outnumber those that end up in accidents.

25. Terror is terror
I don't make a distinction.

There are plenty of domestic terrorists as well. One were observant people prevented a tragedy was the MLK day attempted bombing. It was, as you might remember, a bomb inside a SeSwiss backpack...a fully operational device.

47. Yes they did...a lot of damage they did
Because they never, and on purpose, told you what to look for, and chiefly why.

I have a very limited exposure to anti terrorism. My hubby has a far more extensive...and many a times we have screamed at the tv for precisely that abuse.. So in an effort to counter this abuse.

1.- Yes there is a real threat out there, and it is not just AQ. There are people inside the us who will use terror to advance their goals.

2.- may sound trite but look for things out of place. Blame our training but in the 199s, before 911, we came this close to calling the cops for an abandoned backpack. We knew the person, we knew there were motives, and we knew he wasn't quite right.

3.- in a city a vehicle abandoned in a loading zone, or full of crap is out of place.

4.- any large package left in or near door ways. by package I mean bags, boxes, suitcases, including yes, computers.

5.- if you get a packet that has liquid oozing, feels oily or waxy to the touch, as a lot of postage for weight, or has an unknown or no return adress is suspect.

Oh and if you are near an incident... Get as far as you can from it.

For NOT handling this in a responsible manner. They decided to use to scare the pants out of people. In the process they changed the us, and AQ succeeded.

33. So a device left in the path meant to kill and maim is not terror?
Edited on Fri Sep-09-11 11:41 PM by nadinbrzezinski
As to gun violence...it is a form of terror indeed.

Now here is the trick and difference, the goal of the MLK bomber was to kill and maim, so technically not fully fitting the definition. The goal of AQ was to change the country, they succeeded.

For the record we have had terror before and it has not worked in the past. But the civil right movement was punctuated with terrorism.

I did just that. I should also include abortion clinic bombings, since those are the very essence of terrorism.

Do you think terrorism is only terrorism if it's a foreigner doing it?

I'm just neutral: I'm not afraid of terrorist attacks; yet, I don't tell myself that one could never happen. It could happen, but we can't live in fear--when it's our time to go... yada yada.

Terror inflicted on us by our elected class and Conservatives of both major political parties.

The goal is to keep the sheeple paralyzed with fear that the threat is OUTSIDE and not INSIDE. When do we declare conservatives and the CEOs of Health Insurance Companies enemies of the State and start locking them away from the danger they pose to the rest of America?

...and the fact that, well, their plane had been hijacked. They did the math; the federal government wasn't involved in the computation. Do not conflate their situation with official announcements like this, they have nothing to do with each other.

Let's face it, we live in Western Washington. I never did hear the resolution. Of course not. After all, I'm pretty sure it involved nobody from another country. Evidently, it had sufficient power/weaponry to injure or kill scores of people, but that's not important.
