3. It's so lame and predictable
But I've seen plenty of posts today talking about how we should *fear* and *respect da powah!*

I grew up in the shadow of nuclear annihilation. I'm not much moved by fake terror threats, or worse, gov't sponsored terror events like the underwear bomber.

5. Some very rich Americans and right-wing policies have hurt (and are
hurting) America more than any terrorist ever did or probably ever will. Thousands,millions....who knows. Suffer and die because of inadequate healthcare and poor inspection practices, etc. Americans have caught a major case of stoopid. Symptoms include hatred, anger, greed, and ignorance. WAKE UP AMERICA! The same people many of you vote for are destroying this nation and this world's precious environment.

8. So, just an observation
How many people who still live in NYC/DC/PA have PTSD because of what happened on September 11, 2001? What is the fear fear fear terra terra terra doing to them today?

We have friends on the East Coast who have said they're having trouble sleeping, etcetera, and this was BEFORE the new "warnings" emerged.

I'll be watching football on Sunday, but that's not even a fear fear fear free zone right now.

10. Shoot, Cedar Rapids, IA, had a meltdown after a homeless man left
his suitcases outside of the Human Services building today. The CR emergency people went into full terrorist drill and wall-to-wall coverage on the news with full fledged panic in the voices of media even after the ownership of the suitcases was identified. The man was just tired of carrying his belongings and set them down to go into Human Services.

12. The irony is
Edited on Fri Sep-09-11 06:10 PM by Gregorian
For the last two weeks I've had a Rambo in my "backyard". He has murdered one, and maybe four people. He's armed with a high powered rifle, and knows the forest like the back of his hand. Multiple agencies are pursuing him, and he's eluding them. I ride my bike in the forest that's not too far from where he is supposed to be running. I'm not afraid, but I am a little apprehensive.

The irony is this: His father has pleaded with the county to help his son. He reached his late teens, and then began experiencing mental issues. Big ones. Like dropping fake bombs off at the Chinese consulate in San Francisco. Seeeing and hearing things. Then homelessness. I really feel sorry for the poor guy.

The irony is that the very conservative agenda, the very military spending, the lack of help for those who need it the most is what is causing us, and will begin causing us much more, trouble. Essentially, the Republicans are our biggest threat.

I'm seeing all kinds of really aggravated behavior in the rural communities. I predict that as we really start to lose what safety nets we had, it's going to escalate. Armed robbery, murder, etc.

I mean who didn't see this coming?

9/11. Fuck that. I mean why not just celebrate our assassinated presidents with an annual day. We sure as hell wouldn't do that. It's morbid.

14. Not nearly as morbid as celebrating 9-11 with RC planes and burning appliance cartons...
...but in a world like this, you take your fun where you find it.
