n March, Texas Gov. Rick Perry rejected $555 million in federal stimulus money that would have expanded unemployment benefits for Texans. Perry argued at the time that accepting the stimulus dollars would force the state to expand eligibility to include thousands of low-wage workers — including part-time employees like single mothers, college students and senior citizens — which Perry bemoaned would burden tax payers with “higher taxes and expanded obligations.” When explaining the decision, Perry told Fox News, “this was pretty simple for us.” But now Perry is reversing his decision. Texas has asked the federal government for a $170 million loan to ensure the state is able to continue paying out unemployment benefits:

Texas is now asking the federal government for a $170 million loan so

1. No because they are fucking shameless hypocrites.
And they only see it as "socialism" when it's used to help brownish people.

5. The only reason most teabaggers oppose socialism now.....
...is because they don't know what socialism is.

- This is what is known as "American Exceptionalism" at its finest.....

9. I think Social Security and Medicare are programs based on socialism.

I wish we had Medicare for all. I wish we had a single payer, national health system.

I realized I was a socialist a while ago when I found myself agreeing with Bernie Sanders.

I think Bernie Sanders would be in the mainstream Democratic party, 50 years ago.
Has the Democratic Party really swung to the right? Why does socialism have such a bad name?

17. Idiots.
I believe that a Democratic Socialist society is the only government that is going to last any length of time. And Congress DOES NOT WORK. Parliament is the only way to go. Why do people think that these forms of government have been around for so long and are thriving?! Rome was a Democratic Republic and look at what happened to it's ass!

18. The only emotion 'baggers feel with any regularity is shame.
But first, they need to know that they should BE feeling shame.

They need to be mocked, mercilessly and without equivocation, for their blind, stupid adherence to ignorance. They need to KNOW that they are DUMB. They need to be made acutely aware that not only are they dumb, but that the things now afflicting them (like the above-mentioned ones crying over no police) are THEIR DIRECT RESPONSIBILITY. They start crying about no police, laugh. POINT and laugh. Tell them their all-important tax cut earned them an additional $0.42 last week, and SURELY that half of a Taco Bell taco was better than police protection. After all, police form UNIONS! *gasp*

We've tried reason, we've tried being gentle. We've tried appealing to their sense of good and to their sense of community. Nothing. Now there is one good recourse -- shame. It'll piss them off, it'll rile them up, it'll get them foaming at the mouth. If that happens, we've lost nothing. But some of them will begin to realize we're fucking RIGHT. Even if it's just 1 in 100, that's 1% more than we had. We don't need to 'convert' them or anything: we need them to become aware that they are ignorant and give them a reason to correct that ignorance. If they're actually looking to LEARN...facts will take care of the 'conversion' thing on their own, what with reality's well-known liberal bias.

27. Some of them know it now...
but are now saying they are independent and they don't believe in either side. Some know and just don't give a damn. Some are scared as hell now because they finally became aware of how ignorant they are and were being led around like a pet by republiCONS and the so called 'job creators" who have now taken their jobs,DUMB ASSES..

19. This is what I foresee:
They do have a system. The right-wingers that I know that are financially on dire straights form strong bonds with their churches. So the church donations, essentially take care of their hardship cases. And it goes further. The people in their congregation try to look good to members of their congregation by helping them out outside of the church. Like a high school coach might give their kids preferential treatment in a Varsity sport; or someone else makes sandwiches for their kids lunches; or someone offers them handiwork.

It all sounds good, until you realize that behind all the smiles of gratitude are people who think it's their community's responsibility to give them a living. But that's how right-wingers network within their own community.

I see an inherent problems with this level of closeness. First, those who are giving help to these people who have the spotlight of the congregation, turn their resentment outward, to anyone in the same boat who are not part of their congregation. (They are clickish, so why should it surprise anyone?) Hence, all the anti-social program crap. So, when they all need help at the same time, yes, they are going to eat humble pie. That's our opportunity to shove the pie in their faces so they can eat it and remember what it tastes like.

So if they are against socialism they got something right.
They just don't know what socialism is - that is the problem.
Hell, they think Obama is a socialist.

25. Ask Sarah Palin if the Alaska Permanent Fund
is you know - a little closer to "Socialism" than anything that has been proposed by the Obama Administration or for that matter, anything the Democratic Party has proposed in the last 30 years.

For teabaggers "Socialism" and "Communism" are just labels to slap on anything they don't like and don't understand. That never changes.

They'll be pissed off that the filthy liberals wasted so much money on people that aren't white that there isn't more money for the government to give to them. Hypocrisy doesn't even register for a group when they're openly proud of being stupid.
