If they won't vote for it, the GOP gives POTUS a stump speech and
the ability to campaign in every district in the country between now and Nov with a message that 70% are going to respond to. If they do vote for it, they give him a boost on being able to get things done.

Nicely done Mr President, nicely done

Only gives him a boost if it passes and WORKS, or Republicans vote it down.

2. You're more optimistic than I, although I see your point and
am tempted to be encouraged.

I just think those don't have jobs, and I still don't have one in 2012, will see if another President can do better. They don't pay attention like we do and probably won't care that it's politics that contributed to their woes. The just want to stop hurting and the current guy didn't help.

6. He has given those Roadblock Republicans all the "consideration" they could possibly have wanted.
And in the eyes of many here on DU, he has gone waaaay too far. I personally believe that he will go on the warpath from here on, but in his own unique manner---NO drama, NO lost motion and NO empty gestures. Watch for it! It'll be appearing in your own neighborhood in the near future!
