I was perusing the Arabic-language Reuters just now, which is made immeasurably easier thanks to Google Translate. I wanted to share two screenshots of what appears to be the same story, presented first in the `http://ara.reuters.com/article/topNews/idARACAE7880K320110909">Arabic Language Edition (and translated by Google) and then in the http://uk.reuters.com/article/2011/09/09/uk-egypt-protest-idUKTRE7882DC20110909">UK Edition.
If you run Google Chrome, it offers to translate for you. And here's what you get:  Over in the UK edition, quite a different lede:  Seems to me a little sanitized for the West. :shrug: Anyhow. Food for thought. |
