Read On Facebook and almost called bullshit- but wanted to check with DU first.
Where did/does this come from? is it complete bullshit or where would some link be to follow it up...?

"Due to "lack of room", NYC Police Officers, Port Authority Police Officers and FDNY Firefighters are not "invited" to the 10th anniversary of 9/11 at Ground Zero. Funny - they weren't invited on that day in 2001, either - they just "showed up" and became our heroes, because it was their job." Please re-post if you think they belong MORE than the politicians who are invited!"

9/11 grandees asscan the NY firefighters

Republicons make plans to SLASH firefighter pay, benefits, and manpower levels all across America.

Does anybody else see a trend here?

4. I did read that first responders were being left out of the memorial. Here is the link

http://articles.cnn.com/2011-08-16/us/new.york.911.memorial_1_john-feal-responders-ground-zero?_s=PM:US

When debris rained from the sky in lower Manhattan on September 11, 2001, the first responders to the terrorist attack did not turn away. They rushed to the World Trade Center buildings while the world around them crumbled.

Yet now, after all the wreckage has been cleared and the rebuilding has begun, their path is again blocked -- not by flying chunks of smoldering rubble, but by space constraints.

The first responders are not invited to this year's September 11 memorial ceremony at ground zero, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg's office confirmed Monday

7. Not bullshit
All those "important" Republican politicians want to reduce the chances of anyone telling them the truth about anything.

What better way than to exclude the survivors?

8. I have been hearing this from many sources all week.

The first responders, along with the families who lost a loved one, should be there. Not the politicians who used 9/11 to win an election or make a quick buck. 9/11 has been the golden goose for the repukes since 2001. It brought them everything they wanted, including the war in Iraq that had nothing to do with this terrible tragedy. Will darth, rummy, condi, boosh and ghouliani all be there in their glory? It's enough to make you barf.

11. It's not clear if the first responders who were there that day and/or worked
the pile are involved in this controversy. There were many survivors who helped other people out of the buildings that day, and I don't know if they will be there either. As far as I know, it is a day ceremony meant specifically for family members of those who died, which would include those related to first responders who died.

Part of me says there is a limit to the space and priorities have to be set. Another part says why are we fussing about this and not about the denial of health care to those now suffering from exposure on the pile?
