Not sure if anyone has seen what is happening in Pennsylvania but this is like Hurricane Agnes all over again (and I lived thru that one). Leftovers of Lee is now over Pennsylvania but something with the pressure from Katia - which is offshore - it's preventing Lee from moving thus Central PA getting buried in rain.

The National Weather Service has dialed back its projections for the Susquehanna River to 28.5 feet, down from a 29-foot projection earlier this afternoon. The water level stands at 23.2 feet now, which is considered the "major" flood stage.

The projected crest of 28.5 feet would be the third-highest level ever in Harrisburg. In 1972, the Susquehanna reached 32.57 feet, and in 1936 it reached 29.23 feet.

That water level has already impacted Harrisburg, as 10,000 residents have been evacuated. Corridors into the city would also be greatly impacted, including Front Street, Cameron Street and the Second Street exit of Interstate 83

3. oh you are bad!

I just saw that Port Deposit in Maryland is evacuating everyone. That's by the Conswego Dam on the Suequehanna - they are opening the floodgate which means a ton of people are going to lose their houses =(.

2. Yep, Lee's pushing East and Katia's trying to push West ...
... so they're blocking each other. Not sure which is worse, him or her. :(

6. I wish there was some way that Arizona could take a bit of that rain
California, Az, New Mexico and Texas are in the middle of a long drought.
I've lived here in Az for over thirty years and this monsoon season has been the worst yet--hardly any rain.

11. I'm sure the folks of Central PA would be happy to pack this all up and ship it to you
They'll even pay for the postage.

Mother nature can be extremely cruel sometimes
