Bears are 'Green' in Tahoe: Bear Breaks into Prius, 'Drives' Away
Edited on Thu Sep-08-11 02:04 PM by hlthe2b

A family vacationing in Lake Tahoe, Calif., awoke to the sound of their car horn only to find a bear trapped inside their Toyota Prius. --snip--
he car rolled down the driveway and crashed into some boulders in a neighbor's lawn, causing some damage to the exterior.

But damage to the interior was far worse. --more at link--

I think I'd lock my car in the future. ;)

9. Smarter than me, I guess.
I had a hell of a time trying to figure out how to start and move the thing when I was plowing my neighbor's spot for her after a snow storm.

I had to consult the manual.

5. I doubt that locking the car would have mattered.
Bears come equipped with can openers on each paw.

6. I doubt bears can figure out how to stop the thing... evidently, Prius owners can't even stop them.

7. The prius is a menace
It must be banned. The bear could have been severely injured. Moral of the story, if you have a sandwich and own a toyota - they don't mix around bears.

8. I had a dog do $2,400 worth of damage to my husband's saab
once. I had to run something inside and left her for about 3 minutes (windows cracked in fall-wasn't hot) and she went ballastic. She tore the locks out plastic around the door frame and mutilated the dash. Needless to say she was never left alone in a car again.
