Someone who watched last night's clown fest please confirm...
I was told secondhand that "the biggest applause line of the night" was the reference to Rick Perry signing 231 death warrants.

Is that true?

Really?

It has a horrid kind of credibility, I almost believe it in spite of myself, but I don't WANT to believe it.

Please tell me it wasn't really obvious, that the applause for that wasn't noticeably greater than for any of dozens of other cruel, stupid boasts.

beseechingly,
Bright

2. Made my blood run cold, but yes, it is true.
Says everything one would ever need to know about today's "compassionate" conservatives and the reality of their Xianity. :eyes:

7. C'mon, the clue was that the audience was at the Reagan library. Of course, they have
zero regard for the US or mankind in general.

21. watched just a small segment where they were
attempting to out do each other on job creation. When one of them mentioned little boots as creating jobs, I thought they are really flinging the shite tonight and turned it off. Little Boots at best, in eight years flat lined when it came to creating jobs. And, most of those jobs were ones that you could not support a family on. I remember when the administration attempted to count burger flippers as manufacturing jobs.

23. That's so very much like their reaction to Capital Punishment, ALL gut, no brain. This is scarey!
And I don't think being afraid is an over-reaction. Look at the War on Iraq for how our emotional reactions obfuscate LIES. AND there are still people around, Bush/Cheney bots, who absolutely defend the whole thing.

9. Applause = Yes. Largest applause of the night = No.
I'm sure you can find the entire thing someone online to see for yourself. There was applause but it didn't sound like the largest of the night to me.

15. It was a bone chilling moment.
I have no idea if it was the largest applause moment, but the fact that it happened
is disturbing enough.
WHO are these people?
Must we live next to them?
Can't we just ship them off to an island and let them
kill each other? You know they would turn on each other eventually.
So consumed with hate, they are.

16. A *very* conservative audience. I'm trying to be nice.
Execution is the most solemn duty of authoritarian government. It's politics, religion, revenge, self righteousness, and blood lust rolled into one.

Simi has some really troglodyte Republicans. I used to live over the hill, in Thousand Oaks.

I've been to the Reagan Library. It's pretty nice. :)
