Can we please call it "Judeo-Christian Creationism"?
Wiki lists no less than 39 different creation myths.
Allowing "Creationism" to by synonymous with only one of these myths is problematic.
If they want to teach creationism then they should be required to teach all the forms of it equally. Choosing one and ignoring the others is where "establishing a religion" comes into play.
I think that if people were taught that this one myth has no more evidence to support it than any other myth they would be able to see the difference that the scientific explanation offers.
Americans do not believe that humans evolved, and the vast majority says that even if they evolved, God guided the process. Just 13 percent say that God was not involved. But most would not substitute the teaching of creationism for the teaching of evolution in public schools.
Support for evolution is more heavily concentrated among those with more education and among those who attend religious services rarely or not at all.
