Just heard this on CNN. A fee for the poorest people, made even poorer by the incarceration of a father or other family member.
Shame on this state.

6. When my mom visited my aunt in a California state prison
It seemed she was spending money every moment. High priced food to treat my aunt. To get a picture with them together etc.

This fee is awful. I hope families and friends are visiting prisoners. This is probably one of the best methods for helping to leave crime. What are they going to be like if they have no hope when leaving prison?
