For myself, I have no problem separating someone using language others find inappropriate in the heat of anger - it's hard to find language that makes your opponent as angry, fearful, and rightly shamed as is necessary sometimes without offending third parties, and it doesn't necessarily reflect on the quality of the argument. When referring to the Tea Party, my own preference would be that he used language that offended every living being on the planet - at least that way he could plead equal opportunity.

So my vote is +100 to Hoffa for saying the right thing, -2 for saying it poorly, and -100 for the poll setting up a binary opposition as a legitimate political position.

But such is the pitiful state of the democratic party. No name calling = No fighting back! I don't know how to explain it any simpler than that. If a little tough language is to much for you to bear than you should leave the Democratic party and sit on the sidelines with the independents. If fighting back bothers you and is something you think is inappropriate than just give up, turn in your voter ID and stay home on election day.
