On one hand, this debate is his big coming out party. On the other hand, there's the possibility/probability that his debate opponents will attempt to gang up on him, should he decide to appear. He debated his primary opponents last year but made up some B.S. excuse to avoid debating Bill White.

is act all insulted and accuse the moderator and other debating pukes of trying to politicize the tragedy. I can hear it now "How dare you try to use this tragedy to gain political points and make accusations at this time...". The others will then put their collective tail between their legs and the moderator will go on to the next question and Perry will come out smelling like a rose instead of the dogshit that he really is.
They will all then collectively praise Perry for the wonderful job he is doing and all the blame will then be placed oh POTUS and his administration.
