One question I would ask at the debate tomorrow.
Edited on Tue Sep-06-11 08:00 PM by WCGreen
You say you don't want to invest in public infrastructure and yet even the History Channel is saying everything from Dams to Sewers are crumbling and pose a danger to millions of Americans.

How do you expect the country to recover if everything we depend on to live is left to crumble?

I know you think the private sector will step in to fill the need, but how will that realistically happen?

Not every infrastructure project can be done through private investment because so many projects are not designed to make a profit.

So if you choose the private sector path to infrastructure rebuilding, what do you say to people who suddenly find themselves on the wrong end of a project that is too expensive do? How do these people get water or have a road rebuilt or that dam to fixed because, well, the cost benefit analysis doesn't work...

9. Maybe the nickname for their debate should be "Rumble While We Crumble."

I'm sorry WC, I was thinking of what H2O Man would call their debate tomorrow night and almost immediately I thought of Muhammed Ali and that lead to this.

The question I would ask them is "Since you are against raising taxes, how do you expect to balance the budget?"
And my follow-up question would be, "Didn't President Bush already do all of that when he was in the White House for 8 years during his 2 terms as President?"

And then my follow-up to my follow-up question would be, "If that were all true, then why are you also supporting a Balanced Budget Amendment, since cutting red tape and taxes would balance the budget?"

And then watch their heads spin like that little girl in the movie, The Exorcist, while they try to explain why it doesn't work, it will never work, and that an admendment will never pass the Senate with 75% approval, which is what is required.
