Who are the best whistle blower law firms in every state?
If we're such a progressive, proactive website, why isn't this information at our fingertips? You would think that whistleblowers who have gone before would have set up this information on some website that not only reveals the names, but also rates their experiences.

1. There doesn't appear to be such a list on the internet.
If you think it would be a valuable resource, maybe you could create the list yourself. It's not too hard to find firms that list themselves as firms that represent whistleblowers. Google turns up a number of prominent ones. You could do a state by state search, do research on individual terms and come up with what you're asking for.

Every such list gets compiled by someone interested in compiling such a list.

If you think it's important, then you can do it.

2. No way in hell would I begin to compile a list of lawyers without knowing something about them.
They can be as unreliable as doctors.

I think it says a lot about DU's commitment to progressive causes when such a list does not exist, because, obviously, we would like to be directed to progressive lawyers who are looking for the kind of issues that we talk about here in DU.

It just never feels like this online medium is good at connecting people of like interests.

4. That's probably why such a list doesn't exist.
I don't know. For one to exist, someone has to compile it.

5. But what is imperative to have on that list is the ability to rank the lawyers.
That requires far more website building know-how than I have.

They do this for doctors and rental apartments. Why not lawyers?

Oh, I know why. Because they'll just sue our asses.

Anyone else see the big flaw in the system?

6. My point was that the list you want doesn't exist because it's
a very hard sort of list to compile. It has nothing to do with DU or anything else but that. You're talking about a major undertaking with no possible economical benefit to the compiler. You don't want to do it. I don't want to do it. So, I don't expect that anyone really wants to do it. If they did, it would exist somewhere on the web, and it doesn't.

10. No benefit to the compiler?
That's why Republicans are so well funded and we're not. Have you ever heard of the yellow pages? You come up with a website, establish criteria.

Christ. Of COURSE there are benefits to compiling a list. In fact, if the Democrats were half as organized as the Republicans, they could get this information from several market research organizations.

Do you realize that there are kids out of college compiling I-PAD apps to provide this kind of yellow page effect, but for doctors?

8. A lot of Unions have lawyers they've vetted.
Usually for specific type cases.

3. Kicked for the am crowd.
Well, no one should ever confuse this website for an activist control center.

It's more like a waterhole.
