Update Press Conference on Shooter in Carson City, NV
Edited on Tue Sep-06-11 07:29 PM by Emit
Reno FBI/Carson City Sheriff on the Carson City shooting. Shooter was Eduardo Sencion, age 32, born in Mexico in US with US passport. No indication of terrorism. Lone shooter. Investigation continuing. Weapon(s) - one was variant of AK47 - there were two rifles and one pistol. Two male National Guard members were fatally shot. Others injured - 11 victims total, shooter is 12th - several (5 total) Ntl Guard members were shot, including at least one female. All were in uniform. Can't say shooter was targeting National Guard members - but FBI/Police are concerned that he may have been targeting Ntl Guard members.

On side note: News story on local news said Local Bankruptcy attorney emailed news and said shooter was a client and that he was generous and that this was uncharacteristic of Sencion. Local news is also reporting that Sencion has family up at South Lake Tahoe. Shooter shot himself. Air Ntl Guard bases in Nevada are on tightened security. Witnesses say shooter appeared to be making his way through the restaurant to target/shoot the Guardsmen and women. Blue minvan he was driving had a 'support our troops' ribbon but van was registered to family member.
