Why are courts so tolerant of sociopaths?

It's well known sociopaths crave power, and are ruthless in persuit of power.

So what makes you think a good portion of sociopaths are not running things, not in courts, running daycares,in college tenure ships, running companies, cops, clergy, judges in courts ..Look at the actions and choices of those in places of power and notice how charming, honest ,good looking, upstanding, sincere, and don't forget to observe how betraying, greedy, vindictive, victim hating, callous, arrogant manipulating, they are. The truth is .They wear a mask, the lie we vote for, then there's the truth we find out later that this person is NOTHING like what we assumed they are.

The shoe fits.

7. Sociopaths gravitate to positions of power over others..
Who in our society has more power over others than a judge in a courtroom?

Not to say all judges are sociopaths but it's certainly an extremely attractive occupation for a sociopath.

6. Take a look at the state and federal judges who deal with thos sociopaths
Then take a look at the governors and presidents who appoint them.

Now, what was the question, again?

9. It's a basic job requirement in many occupations, including professional politicians
The people we entrust with most power, in many cases, are least emotionally and ethically fit to wield it. It's almost like anyone who would want to run for President should be automatically disqualified from the office.

There's not a whole lot of integrity left by the time one reaches the top rungs of elected office.
