I remember Trent Lott's racist remarks in 2002 at Strom Thurmond's birthday party
Were you mollified when he apologized?

Neither was I.

And neither will any of the critics who hate labor unions if Jimmy Hoffa apologizes.

And neither were Dick Durbin's critics appeased when he was blubbering on the Senate floor after letting himself be bullied into making an apology that he never should have gave.

Apologies are for children and serve no constructive purpose in politics, except to reveal vulnerability to your enemies.
