Hoffa's comments on Republicans--big deal! Here's what Truman said about Nixon
Richard Nixon is a no good, lying bastard. He can lie out of both sides of his mouth at the same time, and if he ever caught himself telling the truth, he'd lie just to keep his hand in.
Harry S. Truman

furthermore:

Carry the battle to them. Don't let them bring it to you. Put them on the defensive and don't ever apologize for anything.
Harry S. Truman

2. Truman was unappreciated in his time.
I think we need to start bringing up a lot of his quotes along with FDR's.

3. Nixon would lie...
...even if the truth served him better.

Truman...wish to hell there were more like him.

4. That's what elections are for
Edited on Tue Sep-06-11 10:58 AM by Proud Liberal Dem
If you don't like what a candidate/pol is saying, don't (re-)elect them. How many times did whackos and extremists like Bob Dornan, Newt Gingrich and any number of Republican pols spouting off some of the most racist, sexist, homophobic, and extremist rhetoric (without apologies) keep getting re-elected? Obviously, most Republicans in their districts/states (and the corporate owned media) had no problems with their comments yet everybody catches the vapors when labor stands up to a governor who is antagonistic towards them and calls for the electoral defeat of members of the opposition party?.

5. The Things that have been said about Obama and Democrats
by Tea Baggers and some in Congress do more harm than
a Union Leader using language that is more common than
we pretentiously want to admit.

DeMint, R.SC. getting on TV looking into the camera
and saying I don't even want to watch Obama's speech
sends word to ordinary Americans--It is ok to "diss"
the President and the Presidency. Division in this
country grows deeper each day thanks to Tea Party.

Americans with common sense know that Hoffa meant
Defeat the Tea Party and throw them out of office
when he said Let's take the SOBs down.
As usual the Tabloid Channel worked this until
they created their usual lather. The rest of the Media
fell in line and some Duers.
