Poll question: Do you think President Obama should apologize to the teabaggers for the remarks by Hoffa?

Tea Party wants Obama to apologize for Hoffa

It will be interesting to see if this story has legs.

Some conservatives are calling for an apology after Teamsters Union president James Hoffa described Tea Party members as SOBs during remarks that preceded President Obama's remarks at a Labor Day event in Detroit.

Saying the Tea Party has launched a "war on workers," Hoffa said: "President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march ... Let's take these son-of-a-bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong," Hoffa said.

and undermine real American democracy.

4. Should? No. Will? Probably.
Maybe it won't be outright condemnation specifically of Hoffa, but it will take the form of his usual "both sides need to" crap.

5. For one thing, that is not the full Hoffa quote. He talks about VOTING them out
hard to believe the M$M has twisted words again to portray something that isn't.

HOFFA: Everybody here's got to vote. If we go back and keep the eye on the prize, let's take these son of a bitches out and give America back to America where we belong! Thank you very much!

I agree with Mr. Hoffa. Obama should echo those words.

18. That's what I heard!
But that is surely not the way it is being reported! The president has nothing about which he needs to apologize. Perhaps he should, though, point out the real context to the media.

I can't believe they are actually comparing that to the "lock and load" type statements of last year!

9. Obama has naught to do with what Hoffa says.
Can we stop helping the Tabloid TV Channel.

Think. Hoffa heads Teamsters. A lot of Teamsters
supported Republicans.

Hoffa is not playing it down the middle which is
what the Republicans want.

Hoffa has joined this time to support the Democrats.

So we must slap him down and appease Fox which is where
this whole kerfluffle arose.-

11. Absolutely not. Why should he?
There would be nothing in it for him to do that, and he wasn't the one who made the offending (?) Remarks in the first place.

say anything about what Hoffa said. There's no relationship there.

14. While I'm not happy that the remarks were made....
I don't think Obama should apologize for Hoffa.

People apologize for damage their kids do.

This was a bad choice of words. Not exactly damaging or particularly offensive. Just sort of stupid.

21. I really don't think
the remark had any meaning beyond taking them "out" of office. In its full context, that is clear to me. It had nothing to do with violence.

25. I didn't think so either
But then, we're reasonable people.

There are tons of pretty unreasonable people out there who won't see it that way, though.

Which isn't to say that people need to walk on eggshells all the time. I mean, there are people who are going to read the craziest stuff into the most innocuous of statements...

what can you do...

26. Did the Koch's apologize for calling him Saddam Hussein? Mother of all wars (2012 election)?
There are plenty of knees that need bruising on the RW side before Obama apologizes for anything more. Why should he apologize for what Hoffa said? He didn't apologize for what I've said...not that I know of, anyway.

Just because they are hypocrites...

28. When you talk about the working men and women
in this country, you don't just talk about UNION people. I didn't get that impression from what Hoffa was saying. I thought he was talking about ALL working people in this country, as opposed to the so called "job creators" (fat cats and corporations).

As my Dad (ILA) used to say, "the working stiffs" of America. He didn't mean just Union people either.

34. No. Their outrage is laughable.
Still waiting for apologies for the incendiary b.s. Sarah Palin said in the 2008 campaign and since. Still waiting for Sarah Palin to apologize to Gabby Giffords for the crosshairs she posted on Gabby's picture.

The Teabag Party is made up of wusses and they really are afraid. They are afraid of everything. That's one of their problems.
