Gov. Perry held a mass prayer rally for rain a month ago...
Within a couple of hours after the conclusion of his rally, it began to rain in Connecticut. And it rained for about a day, dropping over an inch of rain.

9 days later, it rained again for a day, again dropping over an inch of rain.

Then a couple of weeks went by, without more than a thunderstorm or two going on through.

Then we got a hurricane, (excuse me, tropical storm) and about 6 inches of rain a week ago.

And now we're in for another major rain event!

http://radar.weather.gov/Conus/northeast_loop.php

Forecast for this week: rain, rain, chance of rain, rain likely, etc.

I believe Texas has, in contrast, received a significant amount of morning dew to break the drought.

I wonder if perhaps the people attending the rally prayed for rain for "the place of George Bush's birth" instead of "Texas". That might explain what's going on! :-)

1. It rained and poured all day yesterday in Central NY
I wanted to send a picture of it to Rick Perry with two words on it: "Gay Marriage."

2. Perhaps when Perry prayed for rain, the answer was "OK, but not in your area." That
is an answer, just not the one they wanted.

11. Like Bill Cosby said?
Something about being afraid to be too specific with prayers? :D

4. Actually, the subsequent climatological results
vis-a-vis Texas seem almost purposeful.

6. Lord save me from your followers
This is my thought, but I'm an atheist and this is only in jest. People in Texas that do this are a breed apart, which may explain something that only Stephen Jay Gould could explain.

8. Texas has wild fires instead of rain. Maybe GAWD doesn't like Perry.
Texans should tell him to quit praying for stuff for them.

16. Maybe they need some reverse-psychology prayers.
It couldn't fail any worse, right?
