A new Quinnipiac poll in New Jersey finds Gov. Chris Christie with an upside down approval rating, 44% to 47%.

Key findings: Women disapprove of the job Christie is doing 54% to 36%, while men approve 53% to 39%, a 17-point gender gap.

Said pollster Maurice Carroll: "Christie is having a big problem with women, perhaps because they care more about schools and disapprove 60% to 34% of the way he's handling education."

4. The quote states that women disapprove 60% to 34& of Christie's handling of education.

It then says that women "care more" about education. If you go to the link you see that all voters (men and women) disapprove 55 - 41 percent of the way Christie is handling education. So the numbers for women show that women do indeed "care more about schools" than men do.

There has to be some explanation for the 17% overall gender gap between women and men in overall approval of Christie. This very large disapproval by women on the education issue seems like a fairly probable contributor to the overall gender gap.

Nobody is saying that no men care about education, or that all men do not care about education.

What explanation of the overall gender gap makes sense to you?

5. He's not up for re-election for a long time..it makes little difference what his

"rating" is now.. If he thinks Obama will get a second term, he will start fixing up his health/weight issues and run in '16..that's a very long way off for now.,. He's got the power..couldn't care less about ratings..

In 2013, if we see him starting to lose some weight, we'll know what he has planned.. He'd never accept the vp spot..it's not his style to take orders from anyone.

who are also charter school boosters. if it is not a style issue, then women in jersey pay no attention what so ever to whether actions are consistent with words.
