Watching The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills .......

.....They showed them opening several bottles costing $2700 each of champagne....sunglasses that cost $25000.00 and furnishing that cost 100s of thousands of dollars and I am now pissed that these greedy bastards have a efffin issue with paying 50000.00 or more a year in taxes.

Most of the high price crap was more than likely imports and did nothing to generate a job here in the USA except the $7.25 and hour sales person......Disgusting...

F.Y.I. tonight is my wifes night to have the remote.:)

3. That's highbrow compared to some stuff a family member of mine watches..
It's like the TV is some horrible beast sitting in the middle of the living room giving off these rays that sap your intellect and your vitality like some sort of psychic vampire..

I always leave a visit either angry or depressed because the TV is always on. The funny thing is my family member has commented how I don't seem to be able to ignore the TV, she's absolutely right, I gaze at it in horrified fascination.

12. Attempt at a Serious Answer...

...it is because, like in the "Field of Dreams" movie (except this is more like "Field of Nightmares"): If you build it, HE will come.

HE meaning everybody, he/she/everybody w/access to the BRAVO channel.

Except, what has been built is a venue for 24 hours a day/7 days a week/365 days a year/trash talk teevee.

The cost of producing these so-called "reality" shows is minimal, the profits are maximized, not even including the spinoff market for the individual "cast members" who are selling their "merchandise," and becoming instant "celebrities" in the process.

It sucks like there is No Tomorrow on the Suckage Scale.

Edited for punctuation.

5. I wonder if the waning days of the reign of Louis XVI
were marked by such obscene examples of wretched excess?

7. Damn, that pair of sunglasses cost as much as the Ford Focus I'm buying.
:grr:

I'm sick of seeing their lifestyles peddled on TV 24 hours a day. Yes, I'm talking about these disgustingly rich pieces of crap. They'll never have to work for anything in their life and it's getting really disgusting that we have to accept that lifestyle as the norm. Their husbands are the ones destroying us all so they can spend as much on a bar tab as some of us make in a year, a pair of sunglasses that cost as much as most people's cars... it's revolting. Simply revolting. :puke:

10. watching that show and the other housewives series
is morbidly fascinating. In these days of deprivation for many, it is as if they are rubbing the country's nose in their wealth and insipidness. These shows and "stars" will regret being part of this public spectacle when the the the srhtf (shit really hits the fan).....they will be easy targets.

14. How champagne could be worth that much
or a pair of sunglasses worth that much, really amazes me. You'd think there'd be a limit. I mean, how good can that champagne be? It should cure acne at that price. Or something more serious.

15. It's not how good it is, it's that you can't have it.
The real appeal is that only they can afford to drink it. A 500-1000 $ pair of sun glasses aren't any better than the 5 $ you can buy on the street (heck many times they were made in the same shop). It's just pure elitism. While some premium brands have better material and are better made, a lot isn't and practically none of them are worth the name mark up on them.

18. My husband can't live without the tv on -
From the moment he gets up in the morning to the last thing he does at night, it is accompanied by the noise from the tv. He will watch something he is only marginally interested in just to have the tv on. I have a couple of shows that I like to watch and that's it. I don't watch for the sake of watching. I am so very happy when he is out of the house because I can, and do, turn the stupid thing off and revel in the quiet. In my opinion, he does it because he is unemployed (and not interested in finding employment since I have a job) and needs the sound of someone's voice while he is home alone without me or our daughter. Once in a while when there is truly nothing on that interests him, he will read a book or magazine, but that is rare. I, on the other hand, would prefer to read than to watch tv. I have even caught him watching The Real Housewives of X shows. It is depressing.

20. I tuned in to some real housewives show for a few minutes ths weekend,
it was Georgia I think or maybe Jersey, I really don't know but I couldn't believe how two faced and mean these women were and how entitled they all seemed to think they were. I can't figure out why anyone would want to tune in for more than a couple of minutes, I know it just ended up making me feel bad. x(
