Fox Doctors Hoffa Speech To Fabricate Call For Violence

Right-wing bloggers misled by dishonest Fox News video editing are attacking Teamsters President James Hoffa, Jr. for supposedly urging violence against Tea Party activists during a Labor Day speech. Conservatives are also attacking President Obama, who appeared at the event, for "sanctioning violence against fellow Americans" by failing to denounce Hoffa. But fuller context included in other Fox segments makes clear that Hoffa wasn't calling for violence but was actually urging the crowd to vote out Republican members of Congress.

During the segment that the bloggers have latched onto, Fox edited out the bolded portion of Hoffa's comments:

HOFFA: Everybody here's got to vote. If we go back and keep the eye on the prize, let's take these son of a bitches out and give America back to America where we belong! Thank you very much!

In an initial report on Hoffa's speech at 1 p.m. on Fox News, Ed Henry reported that Hoffa said that "we'll remember in November who's with the working people" and "said of the Tea Party and of Republicans, 'let's take these sons of bitches out.'"

14. A Dallas right wingnut (radio) tonight had his baby boy pants in a wad

over the Hoffa statement. Started out saying why is is that Dems asked for rhetoric to be toned down back when Congresswoman Giffords was shot and now no one is speaking up against Hoffa, said that if "anything happens to any Tea Party member in the weeks to come" that Hoffa should be sent to the justice system..he went on and on and on and on. Said union members should call for his resignation, that POTUS should have denounced what he said instead of saying that he was proud of Hoffa.
So, yeah, this is the new shiny object that the repukes want to use instead of dealing with REAL issues.

That and his other topic was blaming the USPS union workers for the failure of the post office, saying that their union has a "no layoff" rule despite the USPS being used less and less over the years and that 80% of the USPS budget goes towards paying labor which is leading to the USPS demise.

We're in for a wild 14 months...lots of money buys lots of "speech" along with a "network" with a political agenda gladly echoing the memes. The game here is to keep the rushpublicans energized, the Democrats pissed off or demoralized and the moderates turned off by both sides. We see it at work around here with the "Obama is weak" meme as well as framing every thing President Obama does as either extreme or not enough. You say it loud enough and long enough, people will buy it.

One part of this strategy is to isolate the President and make any of his defenders look extremist to the right wing and as "appologists" to the left. Add a rumor here, a misquote there and watch the shit stirring ensue. Facts mean little...this is a propaganda war where the loudest lie travels the furthest.
